With a reunion with David McGoldrick - who has been fit all season. Best of luck to you Didsy, but not this game please. Thank you! Tough ask. Better quality than Wigan ( clearly, table doesn't lie ) with some good players. Wilder from memory tries to play good stuff - which could prove difficult. Think Lambert might be trying to perhaps play better football at times than we're capable of player for player - just a hunch. At least we'll go into this game with a win / clean sheet in the bank. The squad is starting to have more options - Bishop unused sub v Wigan ( least back in the squad ) Dozzell etc. I'm none the wiser regarding where we're at - the weather everyone says v Wigan was a big factor. As for a prediction, at this moment no result would surprise me massively, so throwing it over to you all! Can we follow up the win with a positive result?
Unless you are going to the game I suggest you don’t bother giving an opinion. It’s not valid unless you are there in the ground according to fieldmarshall. Yes, really.
McGoldrick is destined to score against us, isn’t he? I feel more confident about this game than I was a few days ago, based on the result yesterday. Albeit we did not have the most encouraging of performances. As we’ve mentioned before though, I’d take a string of nervy, scrappy wins over positive, but pointless, performances in the short-term, at least to get us through this festive period and into the transfer window. Closing that points gap should be our number one priority, the sides around us look equally as hapless most weeks. Despite the win, I think beating Sheffield United (two wins in their last seven) is a tough ask. I’ll opt for a 1-1 draw.
Sheffield United are impressive going forward. If we can find a way to win this game I think we are going to have to score at least twice however it comes - from a deflection, a corner, an own goal, a pen, a wonder strike. But they are going to come to Portman Road licking their lips and I think they'll be out of sight by half time. 3-1 Blades.
I will cash in the optimism that a win gives you... I think we can get a draw. Defeat is the more likely outcome though. Scoring first will be vital to get anything out of the game.
I would see a draw against the Blades as a good result but we really need wins if we’re to keep escape a realistic possibility.
That's why I asked you and I couldn't think of anyone else, I would take a draw right now tbh and I hope we stop this obsession with playing out from the back, nobody's comfortable with it and it usually ends up with Chambo lumping it up the pitch anyway.
Looking at the other fixtures teams around us are playing it looks like we will need at least another 4 or 5 points from the next three to not have the gap open up again. It feels like a tough ask but I would definitely take a point against the Blades and a win against QPR.
If there are any kids on here for God's sake don't declare it. There are loads of dodgy people on the Internet!
Wahoo, looks like I can get in for a quid! Ipswich 1-4 Sheffield United Don't think I will bother, get myself a bottle of beer with the quid instead!
