I hope this is a loan with a view to get him fit after his injuries rather than a loan, like suggested in the article, that means he's completely out of the first team picture here. I think he could have a big part to play here next season.
It miles too early to decide weather Schlupp will or wont cut it. He has the potential to be a very good player A season long loan will be best but it could be a problem loaning him to Sheffield United Take when we loaned Max Gradel to Bournemouth, he was hardly going to turn around at the end of the loan and say he wants to sign for them on a permanent deal but when we loaned him to Leeds it was always going to be a possibility. If Jeff does well at Sheffield United and they get promoted then he could want to stay there
Differn't circumstances ... Gradel had fallen out with Pearson big time - he was never going to come back to us with NP in charge ..
Im just using Gradel as an example, it can happen It happened with Waghorn when Sunderland loaned him here aswell
Waggy was never going to get into Sunderland's first team in the Prem ... I get your point but you could just s easily use an analogy of Tom Cleverly, Jay Spearing and even Mark Davies to support a view that a parent club is more likely to get a player back if they really want them ... even if it is then to faciltate a sale to a completely different club i.e the Davies situation
make it clear they cannot try to sign him unless we say so- like they did with Victor. I think he needs a loan, and in a big team like this.
I reckon he could tear that league to shreds next season. Then he needs a season in the Championship before joining us in the PL
I thought he was a 20 goal a season man and already better than Davide Somma*. Now why would such a prodigious talent need third tier experience? *(c) AKCJ 2012, all rights reserved.
The land of bald-headed hackers and weighty challenges? Sounds like the perfect place to begin a relaxing come-back.
Point taken ... but he is very quick and more likely to find more time and soace than in the Championship
Missed half the season with a knee injury If you could find me a 'he's a 20 goal a season man' quote then i'll be delighted. He's better than Somma though, he's already scored more than him in fewer appearances for the club he's now at (wouldn't want count Somma's previous record of 3 goals in 53 games) despite being 8 years younger
I inferred it from you saying he's better than Somma. If he's truly better than Somma (who scored 12 in the equivalent of less than 20 full games in his last season fit) it follows that Schlupp must be at least a 20- (probably 25-)goal man if he gets a full season. No?
We'll see. But as it stands Schlupp is 19 and will only get better. Even if he's not better than Somma yet its nothing to be proud of. Schlupp will be in the PL when he's matured. Next season keep an eye on him.
Not wanting to put a weight around the lads neck that makes him drown in a sea of expectation (I should have been a writer), but he is a goalscorer - scored bucket loads through the youth teams and got a hat-trick for us on his full first team debut in the Carling Cup (as was) ... when you see how Jordan Rhodes has been banging them in - in that league, and what Ched Evans - never a prodigious scorer (at least not with consent) did last season, I would not back against him getting 20 plus if he is fully recovered ..
