Not sure if already mentioned or how accurate but I was over the sheepfolds yesterday looking over a few more of the demolitions I’ve got. Spoke to someone at SCC and they seem to think that there won’t be much around the luxury flats being developed at the ET warehouse that’s staying (largest building block 1 iirc).

Whatever happened to the talk of the govt moving up to city hall whilst parliament is getting renovated in the next few years? They’ll get the funding undoubtedly if that happens.

I don’t think it was ever a real prospect. The council offered to host the House of Lords in a new facility which would be converted to a state of the art conference facility after they moved back to London. As it stands they seem to have decided to stay put and do the renovation of Parliament while they are still in the building.

it will cost more and take longer, but they will still have their London flats.

I think the offer of moving the Lords to Sunderland was one from the,shy bairns get nowt, way of thinking. The offer is still on the table.

So with Nissan, the gigafactory and the Pallion studio planes, Sunderland will have three major employment sectors , which is what a local economy needs to be sustainable. For the first time in decades Sunderland can look forward to the future and young people can have security.

I'm still sceptical that electric cars are the way forward. The grid itself is nowhere near good enough to support an electric car at every home.

You also have Toyota who have made an Ammonia engine which is way more productive than current EV's.

Just wish these things were at the beginning of the month rather than the end…runs until Sunday 24th and I get paid on the 25th.

    Bloody typical.
