Personally I think the headline should read .....Sharp finishes........twice. He was probably unlucky not to get a hat-trick. Sharp showed some of his class today some very good running off the ball. I did say in a post the other day for him it will be like a bus.........wait for ages and then a couple come along!!
I've wanted everyone to shut up that he isn't starting. I said it is a tough squad to get into and will have to be patient to get his chance. He was and he did!!
Evening! See my post on the match thread regarding Mr Sharp! Really answered his critics today me being one of them! Hope this gives him a great belief he can become as big as some of our other players it certainly has me as a supporter.
In his interview on Player, Billy said that he wasn't fit enough when he came. Said Southampton are top of the league because of being really fit and he had to work on it. Also said they want to win title not just gain promotion..just like we won it last year...mmm, no Billy...that was Brighton (easily forgotten I know).
He was excellent today, and I still think there is a lot more to come from him. He is in the best possible hands with our Mr Adkins.
Think him not starting has been a great move from Nigel. It has taken the pressure off his shoulders. He has had to fight for his place and now that he has taken his chance he may keep Lee out of the side when he is fit. They are two totally different players, both of which i would love in the starting 11
It was very noticeable that the excess baggage visible when he first arrived has melted away. He was good as he was, what will he be like superfit like Lambo, the mind boggles.
It just shows how good Sir Nigel and the backroom staff really are. They work on the fitness and conditioning and turn good players into great ones!
Had some money on Sharp to score, as I think did most of the stadium judging by the queue at the bookies! Couple of other bets didn't come in, but I'll enjoy being £4 better off!
