It took LFC 15 days to appoint a new manager, they never opened their mouth about who was being approached It took spurs a) longer (21 days) b) everyone and their mother knew who was getting the job. The media stated LFC had a prolonged and messy process... the media never opened thier mouth about spurs..... surely there are only a few possibiliies here. a) nobody give a damn about spurs b) spurs are damned lucky the euros were on to distract the media c) the media went out of their way to attack LFC cos it sells papers to dumn LFC fans who live on every word. Thoughts....
We're clearly a hated side after the Suarez saga, combined with the fact that we as an English giant has fallen so far down the table. The only way we can help our situation is by winning on the pitch. It also helps having a media savvy manager like BR who is saying all the right things.
We do seem to get a lot of flak from the media, some just love sticking the boot in when something goes wrong.
Don't think Spurs are seen as a big side in my eyes, you can generally judge the size of a club by it's media presence, and they have a very small media presence.
I think you'll find we are and always have been 'ashamed' of our supporters part in the deaths of 39 juventus supporters in 1985. So what else would you like to add that we aren't ashamed of?
Pmk sorry you should bring something like that into the equation as that is not where i was coming from. I was thinking more along football lines, on ja606 Lfc fans thought it a disgrace Chelsea spending so much money on Hazzard yet you spent so much on Carrol. If Utd get a dodgy pen your board will be full all week about how Utd buy the league, if your team get an identical one the week after yours is deserved. You have though proved the first point of my comment though always play the victim card.
Cant agree there lad, that insult was created with the Heysel tragedy firmly embedded into it. Explain your 'always play the victim card' comment?
I'd say a,b & C. The media dont really care about Spurs unless it was Redknapp related. The Euros have basically taken any attention away from any domestic football, even the Redknapp sacking didnt get that much attention. And yes C, even though opposition fans will tell us we're just paranoid, I cant go a day without reading a S*N, Mirror or Mail article that isnt negative towards Liverpool. That we're being linked with some sub-par player, that our players want out, ridiculously low bids for Suarez or that we're going to miss out on prime targets. The media had a frenzy with our manager search as the club was giving them nothing, so they had to make random guesses and add to that Big Mouth Whelan talking to Sky every 5 mins about what our board was doing (despite the fact he knew **** all). Diffence with the Spuds is that everyone guessed that it was going to be AVB weeks ago, once you've done the story once it difficult to rehash the same **** over and over again.
How was he "playing the victim" in that post? He accepted the fact that some Liverpool supporters played a part in the death of 39 Juventus supporters. He didn't prove anything, stop talking rubbish and start reading properly.
Well lets be honest here pmk once you get like this you would never even agree with yourself even. You are the only person to bring a tragedy into the equation as it would suit your argument. Even after i explain that was nowhere near where i was coming from you bring it up again. (Perfect example of playing the victim card if that was where i was coming from). Suarez getting banned for 8 games for racial abuse, yet Lfc supporters make out he was the victim, that is more along the lines that i was coming from. Rio Ferdinand missed not failed (he passed it the next day) a drug test and gets banned for months. Other teams players have failed tests and not got as long a ban. We put up with Lfc supporters saying Rio is a junkie, we don`t play the (we are the victims card), most of us say he was a fool for missing it. So please if you are going to say my posts have undertones or something (embedded in it) maybe use Suarez as a reference as i have no problem with that.
Are you thick? Maybe you should start reading properly and realise your schoolboy retort has come from reading and siding with pmk`s post without giving mine the slightest bit of attention. I apologise now for my thick comment by the way if you have taken the time to read the whole of my post.
Your post of 'Outraged at everything ashamed of nothing' needs explaining. IMO the thing LFC has to be ashamed of(and rightly so)is Heysel, which i said. 'Outraged at everything'? You mean like Ferguson is when anything thats not favourable to Utd is said or in print?,if so we are not alone in our 'outrage' are we. Or do you mean the city of Liverpool?,because you never added FC when you posted. Your quick to come out with the stereotypical rhetoric so why not admit it or back your statement up. Are you saying Utd just accepted Ferdinand's ban without being 'outraged'?.
It's the usual facile, thoughtless line we get hit with every time we have the temerity to disagree with anything said about us.
Its just a facile stick to beat us with when they cant give a sensible balanced and logical response to something that is put to them.
Pmk please do not class Utd on the "outraged" front, maybe you could if after the Cantona incident the players had taken to the field wearing "kung fu fighting" t-shirts. I think i have explained my comment fairly well even if it is not up to your obvious high standards. Obviously we were outraged initially by Rio`s ban as it was unprecedented and still is for what is still classed as a infringement, as i say other players have committed the offence of failing but received less ban. Difference is we say Rio was a fool, you say Suarez was a victim.
Utd fans outraged that fun is made of the following yet quick to make a motto of 'outraged at everything ashamed of nothing' aimed at us. Riogate Grannyshagging Sister in law banging Mary&Tommy's affair Utd victims of 'something' after every defeat or negative refereeing decision. Ffs Suarez/Evra has been sorted and we've moved on..And you're deluding yourself that there's not still outrage from Utd fans about Rio's 9 month ban.
