pressure games, seperate the men from the boys..we looked more scared then a child on its 1st trip to the dentist..
It wasn't just that Gerrard was just bloody **** today, it wasn't bad luck or anything like that he was lazy he wasn't paying attention he didn't track his man and he made too many mistakes, but he has apologised on his twitter, fair enough but I would just like to know why he was so bloody awful it was an amateurish performance. Fair enough, that a good player can have an off game but that wasn't an off game it was a sodding joke!
Completly baffled by todays performance! An utter shambles. We looked half asleep today apart from the first 10 minutes. Koren's performance was pretty much half arsed and he looked pretty disinterested for a large portion of the game. Gerrard was in cuckoo land. Think that can be said of the whole team to be fair.
It was an off game, one of the unexplainable things that happen in football, him Dawson and Chester all had complete rotters yet each are players you could never normally accuse of laziness, no concentration or lack of awareness.
IMO if one defender has an off-day you'll concede a goal but if 2 have bad days then you're screwed and that's what happened.. but what I don't get is that we were a goal up and the nerves should've been settled.. so what clearly happened was the team was unsettled by the Gerrard lapse, he then Dawson who are our senior players - if a young kid makes a rickets of it then ok the older ones put their arm round him, say "don't worry, forget it.." etc
You need to calm down abit. Both us and you was always playing catch up this season and we did well to run it down to this far. Both teams will have money to spend in the summer and should be stronger next season How did Jack Hobbs do
he was also pretty ****, didn't have a very good game but he wasn't the only one. Mate we all watch football we see bad games but you watch the goals we let in today they are all a ****ing joke! Each a contender for **** defending I really mean, that I'm not just moaning about a bad goal that could have been better I mean they are all really really bad defending that you wouldn't expect in a Sunday league game.
OK actually, as surprising as that sounds. Well, when I say OK I mean not great, but compared to the other defenders he looked like the lovechild of Jack Charlton, Bobby Moore and Franz Beckenbauer. PS: I'd have given him a 2/10, compared to the 1/10 the others were rated as by my good self.
Hobbs wasn't at fault personally but as part of the defence he has to shoulder some responsibility.. it is a team game afterall but the invisible finger points at Gerrard & Dawson.. but you're right Mr Fox, we'll build in the summer and have a real crack at it next season..
Of course we're happy with our season regardless, considering our start, but honestly if you'd watched the same defensive perfomance you'd be just as pissed off. We've had a great second half to the season but the defense looked as though they'd been drinking before the game. If you watch the football league show or see the highlights online you'll see what we're talking about, the first 3 were a shambolic comedy of errors whilst the fourth was just too easy. Either way, like you said, we were always playing catch up and should be proud of our respective recoveries. Hobbs had an average game I thought, didn't make ridiculous mistakes like the others, at least. I reckon we'll both be in the top 4 next season
