QPR’S proposed pre-season friendly against Shakhtar Donetsk on Saturday (tomorrow) has been postponed due to the Ukrainian club pulling out of the fixture.

However, at extremely short notice, Rangers have now arranged a fixture versus Verona Stars, at the new stadium of Stadio Comunale di Dormelletto – via Tesio – Dormelletto, 28040.

Supporters are advised that the nearest train station is Largo Duca D’Aosta-Arona, Arona, 28041, which is 2km from the stadium.

The match will still kick-off at 5pm local time (4pm UK time).

QPR’s Head Coach, Chris Ramsey, said: “We are disappointed that we have been let down by our proposed opponents so late on, but we are pleased we have been able to arrange another fixture at such short notice.

“Whilst the standard of the opposition isn’t that of Shakhtar Donetsk, at this stage of our pre-season campaign, the most-important thing is ensuring the players get some game-time under their belts.”

Ramsey added: “I am sorry to all the supporters who have travelled out to Italy, but we were completely powerless to prevent this change.

“I really do hope as many of you as possible can get to the game at the new venue. Your support is hugely appreciated.”

With the late change to the schedule, R’s supporters who attend tomorrow’s game are advised to keep their match tickets to exchange it for a corresponding Superstore voucher for the same value.

In addition, supporters who exchange their match ticket at the Superstore will also be entitled to an access-all-areas day at the QPR training ground, at a date to be confirmed in due course.

They should be allowed a full refund, not an exchange of credit at the superstore.

Although they've pulled out ... ( Stop sniggering at the back.) At least the opposition is a bit more realistic!

They're in a serious state at the moment due to the Ukrianian 'civil war'. They haven't played a home game for over a year and in a financial meltdown. Shame they left it to the last minute to pull out...

That's a bit harsh. Considering that it's no fault of the Rs, I think they've been quite generous.
