Coke A then, assuming we don't, which two of the Seven Up above us are going to bottle it over this last 6 games to let us fizz back into the top 6? If we do get the results ourselves, at least two others have got to screw up, or maybe we can pull a ring or two ourselves?
The interest is so intense on this question, I don't who to disagree with first. I'll be brave then and start it off then before tomorrow's game. The two clubs to make way for us will be Boro and Brighton. For me, and I said this a month or so back - I'll go for us to beat Blackpool at Wembley by the same score they beat us two years back.
Morning Sparkey. I can't get over all the bickering at the moment. There must have been half a dozen posts yesterday and all very amicable. Off to do the daily horse chores with my daughter. One is usually bad enough but she's doing holiday livery for 4 others this week. Cricket and rugby to watch as well before a game that could define our season. Blackpool seem to be running into form, so 6th spot may be the only one available. Watford and Leeds lost yesterday which eased the pressure from behind. I'll repeat what I've posted on a number of other threads. I just want to see a positive move from MM to do something different to win the game.
Aye Remote - apparently there was more action on the Mary Celeste............. As far as today's game goes, after witnessing the game against Boro at the CCS, we'll do very well to get a point let alone three. They were a good side, much quicker to the ball, had pace all ove the park, and showed us how to win a game by using your advantages. More worrying is that we were going well at the time and got a bit of a lesson. Don't know whether they've gone backwards since like we seem to have, but it'll be a tough one the way we've been playing recently anyway. The full monty of 3 points will put us above them and Brighton, but a point will still keep us thereabouts. Our remaining 5 games are all very winnable, and Brighton have a huge run in programme - that's why I'll take us to get that 6th spot at the death.
Morning all. Well I reckon it's about sixth place now, and it's between us, Boro and Brighton. To be honest, all three have been inconsistent but our form seems the least impressive. While I agree that our remaining games look winnable, I've thought the same about some other recent games. It all harks back to the questions being asked on other threads. Four more points by Monday night and we're still in the hunt. Six, and we may have some momentum. Anything less and it's off on hols early. Not wishing to plagiarise you sparks, but no matter what we do, we're depending on other results, and that still doesn't seem right considering where we were. However, positive head on, and perhaps today is the day that we'll confound ourselves by starting a string of wins. I think we should play 4-3-3 today with Hudson up front!
Morning to you Clingo. Yup - I don't mind you plagiarising me mate - it's OK between consenting adults............. Agree that "winnable" games tend to go breasts up on times, but I think all 5 after today of them are waiting to be taken for the full 3 points. Malky & Co. just need to go for it with one last big push to get us over the line. Once there, as we all know, anything can happen over the 3 playoff games. Regarding today, I even think we can sneak this one - I'm going to pop over to Sheep's prediction thread to leave a 0-1 to the Bluebirds. I'm actually more concerned about Malky's old club visiting us on Monday. After today's efforts oop north, we need to regroup very quickly for that one given the "former club manager" incentive the visitors will have.
Hope we can get the win today as it will give us some confidence going into the final 5 games. It may also knock some of the confidence out of boro and adversely effect their run in. It's all about the 6th spot today, lose today and we will not make the play off spot.
yep, it'd def between us, Boro and Brighton now for the 6th spot which makes today a huge game. Having said that, should we get there today, we're still only 2 pts behind the 2 above so its still all to play for. Soda ideal result will be a win to pop us into 6th. Hopefully we'll get the result and hope Malky and co keep us there till the end of the season. Malky should call the Nou Camp and have a word with Pep since they have a winning formula although the worst thing about coming back from Spain is watching your tan go
