Apart from JOS header after 30 seconds or so every one of our corners from AJ and every one of our free kicks from went to the 1st man. What the hell do they practice during the week. Also why oh why oh why do we have a git big 6'2" midfielder in N'diaye standing approx 5 yards from AJ for corners when he should be in the middle causing bother.
This. And in any case for some ****ing reason we can't get corners (or free-kicks for that matter!) into a decent area so he may as well be in a position to defend when the inevitable happens and the corner hits the first man
N'Diaye is a young lad and will develop before we all bring the iron gauntlet down on him. Heading is actually a very hard technique, anybody can head a ball but to put power on it and direction it can take a lot of practice, he'll get there.
J2791, Maybe i didn't word it very well but I wasn't actually having a go at young Alfie. My problem is having another big lad in the box causes havoc for defences. I am sure he has been told to stand there otherwise surely a captain or more experienced player would have told him to get in there. My opinion, for whats its worth, is it is an absolutely pathetic waste of time.
It doesn't matter if he is an accurate header of the ball, he's a unit and could hustle around the box giving defenders something to think about and thus creating an opening for another of our players. I don't know how we expected to score from any of the set pieces when we only had 5 men in the box and Fulham had 10. That's a management issue and something.g that should be worked on in training. For a team like us who dont create many chances set pieces could be and should be vital, just look at Stoke for instance.
