With Brucie's comments this week it looks like we are going to see Gyan and Sess as the front two this season, Gyan playing in a main striker role and Sess playing in and behind linking the midfield to the frontman. We seen at West Ham on the final day a taster of how these two will play together and I think these two are going to cause serious problems for teams this season. The main thing is keaping hold of Gyan and I think we will but its going to be interesting to see how these two link up at Anfield on the opening day.
I think there will be at least 1, maybe 2 more 'big' signings (and a striker is included there) before we kick off at Anfield.
i think pre season will be very interesting this year, what happens if wickam is superb in the friendlies do we move sess wide again?, could be a problem i must say its a nice problem to have though
hope so, we certainly need a left winger especially if Steed is on his way out as it seems to be the case and another striker (Welbeck?) as you say
I think we'll play with Sess up front behind Asa and A N Other. The A N Other will be one of the new lads or the much mooted "marquee" signing we're keeping our fingers crossed for. Should be good and if we can a left-sided player as well I will be chuffed.
Problem there is mate, we lose Gyan in January for the cup and Campbell is out for the foreseeable future. That leaves us with 3 strikers, 2 unproven. I'm not panicking because I'm convinced the club are working on this. I'm not so sure we'll capture the big marquee striker signing in this window that people keep mentioning, more likely to be a few loan signings to bolster the squad imo.
So at present barring no more additional signings our set up is looking like, Larsson-----Cattermole--Gardner-----Vaughan -----------------Sessegnon------------------ --------------------Gyan-------------------- I think there would be too much pressure on Gyan & Sessegnon with just those 2 upfront, so I would hope by close of the window it would look like, Larsson-------Cattermole/Gardner------Etherington/N'Zogbia -----------------Sessegnon------------------ ------------Gyan---------Welbeck-----------
I personally would rather have Steed on the left than Vaughan I aint sure why people are seeing him as a left sided midfielder when he keeps telling people he likes to drop deep collect the ball and play simple passes. Sounds more like a better suited to the prem player than Riveros not a winger. as for the second team think would rather go with Gardner and Cattermole and Larsson on the bench. Sess and N'Zog the widemen or Welbeck and N'Zog with Sess behind Gyan
You really think N'zogbias still on the radar?? A club statement was released saying they were no longer interested in him. To sign him now the club would have to have been blatantly lying to the fans when the statement was released. No chance.
But a club statement was also released saying we wouldnt be getting any players in till august. Dont always believe what is said.
Anyone is on the radar until deadline day my friend. Sess/Gyan are our game changing players, so far we have signed potential and squad players, now is the time to sign 1 or 2 game changers to really make ourselves a force next season
Well that might be true to a certain extent but this Nzogbia thing does my head in to be fair. I'd happily stake a large bet with any bookies that gave me odds on him not being a Sunderland player next season.
this, and while nzogbia is entering the conversation(again), i'd much rather us go for scott sincair, we could get him for less than what we were going to pay for darron gibson, i've said this on numerous occasions. I honestly think sinclair is class and him and welbeck(probably on loan) and i'd be very happy, here's hoping
