Morning Every one.... As you may realise some of the new server issues are proving to be harder to fix than thought. We continue to ask you to keep us informed if anything unusual happens when logging on,posting or repping, (basically anything) either on here or by pm too me, which a lot of you have been doing. The administration Would also like to thank you for your Patience while they are trying to put things right. You may be interested to learn that there was obviously a surge on the site at the recent news both on our board and on others. The new server for the first time coped completely, didn't slow us down nor did it have to refuse access to guests. The biggest trial of course will be the final day of the transfer window.......watch this space. BT
Just one odd gliche yesterday evening, half way through typing the message, there was a blip, and the text started to appear outside and below the message box. I stopped re-booted the site and all was well again.
Whenever I'm on here a new tab opens up with an online game (varies which one), I'm sure that's been reported before because it's been happening for a while.
Ok have just received this from a mod on the admin team.....as the problem you are experiencing does not apppear to be anything to do with the server or that is the view for the moment. :- BT, I'm not sure about Safari but I had similar problems recently and found I had picked up an extension trying to divert me to another browser. I deleted the extension and installed AdBlocker Plus as an additional measure. No more problems. Hopefully that helps and anyone else experiencing similar problems. If that doesn't cure it I will go back to the team again. Cheers BT
I'm not sure if it's a direct result of the server update or merely coincidental timing but previously the title of a thread remained bold until you had read the latest comment in the thread, this however seems to have changed. Despite reading all the comments, thread titles are remaining bold which makes it's more difficult to work out which threads have new posts since your last visit.
Not sure if I have understood you.........If I am reading you right......The only Threads you will see in bold print will be mainly the threads that you had previously read but another comment had been added. In other words any thread you have read should go into normal print not bold. This would be a new issue but so far I have not seen this happening........Has anyone else? It is not an issue that has been raised at all by any other forum either! That is not to say it isn't happening.......So would need more confirmation........Thanks for the info though will pay this more attention.
Not quite. Normally the thread title is bold if their is a new post you haven't read and is not bold if there is no new posts. This way you can log on and easily see which threads have been updated since your last visit. However atm, it's seems to be registering most threads as containing a new post, even if I have read them all.
HI Beddy, I have noticed an issue somewhat similar to the duplicate-posting problem. Some posts on here seem to contain exactly the same information that the posters in question have already communicated many times before. Could you ask Mick if he can sort this problem by the addition of an "broken recordt" filter?
