    http://www.turkish-football.com/sunderland-to-make-e12-million-january-move-for-bruma/?

Sunderland are set to table a €12 million bid for Galatasaray’s Bruma.
The Premier League side were close to signing the Bruma last season however, the Portugal U20 international sustained a knee injury keeping him out for the rest of the season.
“Sunderland wanted to loan Bruma in January,” Bruma’s agent Marco Kirdemir stated.
Responding to the Shields Gazette questions about transfers, Poyet said “Yes, I know which positions we want.
“We had a good idea, but it’s become clearer over the last few weeks.
“It does depend though. You have to be ready and manage the situation if it changes.”
The 20-year-old winger is understood to be available to any team who is willing to pay Galatasaray’s €10 million valuation.
Bruma has struggled for playing time under Galatasaray manager Cesare Prandelli and is reported to be unhappy with the situation.
The Portuguese international winger has only made seven starts in all competitions this season.

    ------------------------------------

So... Sunderland are going to table a €12m bid for a player the club will allow to leave for €10m

    I smells bullshit personally

Also - why would we pay that much for a kid with no PL experience and who has suffered a season ending injury last season?

Highly rated youngster by all accounts, but for that money there's probably better value knocking around.

I wouldn't be surprised if Poyet goes for McManaman from Wigan in January, he's been brilliant recently and he'd be available for much less than £10m I'd imagine.

I like the look of him a lot and he'd be ready to throw straight in.

True - but still - no major harm done (luckily) - the lad only missed a fortnight

I rate Mcmanaman and he'd be a good option as long as Whelen wasnt a **** about the price. Just watching clips of him there and he'd solve our problem on the left. Pace, direct, can go inside and out and a good finisher. Remember him playing on the right in the cup final and having a stormer iirc.

Yeah, looked worse than it was. Could have been a leg breaker though!

He scored a worldy a couple of weeks ago, vs Bolton it was something Zidane would have been proud of.

Go to around 4 minutes in. Brilliant finish.

He should be playing in this league really.

I think he would be if not for injuries. I think with Gus bringing Buckley here it might rule us out for Mcmanaman

Did u read his explanation for not wearing poppies? To be fair to the kid he has every right, he was getting all kinds of **** for not wearing a poppy.

I remember O'Neill fetching him through and thinking he was gonna be top drawer, what happened there? Surely has to be better than Wickham on the wing?

One trick pony mate, was quickly found out and then when teams started putting 2 players on him quickly became very ineffective

Yeah, sounds about right. Something that you can get away with in the Championship a lot more, the league is full of one trick ponies.

DAPARKER - I believe that you can have as many overseas loans as you want - it's PL loans that are limited. Watford had 14 players or something on loan from Udinese the other year - I know they're in the Championship but sure they abide by the same footy rulebook on number of loans

Ah right, I thought it was two domestic, two foreign and only one from any one club.

We should raid Italy if its unrestricted. Players like Giaccherini playing for a few grand a week in serie a. I was shocked when I saw their salary chart. Giacchy tripled his money apparently.

no Ricky wasn't the alternative, Our loan move for Bruma was last Jan not in the summer.

There's no limit on overseas loan signings. But I think there's a rule to no more than 5 loan signings in a match squad.

Last season we had Celustka, Vergini, and Alonso on loan from overseas clubs plus Ki and Borini as domestic loans.
