Had no idea there were so many, just the big hitters like Sutcliffe, Wests etc. The Elite if you will. Every town in America seems to have one. Never heard of this guy before, one outside and three inside. Some boy!! Sutcliffe still tops him for me though, different level.
Mind those daft ****s that were just shooting random ****s with a sniper rifle out the back of a Transit van a scatter of years ago? Some guy and a young boy I think? Whatever happening to them? Washington D.C. area it was.
I must have at least 200 books on serial killers. The best by some distance is Wicked Beyond Belief: The Hunt for the Yorkshire Ripper. It is exceptionally written and reads like a thriller. I've probably got every book ever written about Ted Bundy, who continues to fascinate, even though it's over 30 years since his execution. There's an excellent Ed Kemper documentary on Sky Crime at the moment.
Aye I watched a documentary about those 2 headers too, crazed bastards. America is absolutely full of them.
aye it was out the back of a car. I think he cut a glory hole in the boot. The guy got the lethal injection and the boy got life iirc
Karl Denke's an interesting one. Killed 31 people, and sold their bits on his popular meat market stall.
Best serial killer dramas to watch during lockdown. Have you watched Mindhunter? I think you will enjoy it.
Yep, I gobbled them up over the course of a weekend. Utterly absorbing TV. The series about the Unabomber was pretty darn good too.
The interest in serial killers is about our wonder over why. The fact that we seem to have serial killers more popular in the public consciousness is our desire to enjoy the worst of them. Harold Shipman, boring ****, killed in boring ways, but one of the biggest, if not the biggest, serial killers in history. But dear old Harry didny gut anybody, eat them, or make lampshades from their skin. As Stephen King said in "Apt Pupil" we love the 'gooshy' stuff.
I watched a programme once with a psychiatrist discussing killers, and he reckoned it was usually approached from the wrong angle, and instead of trying to work out why some people kill, it's more appropriate to work out why the rest of us don't, as we're all more than capable in the right circumstances, the key is working out what they are.
Peter Sutcliffe doesn't interest you? One of his corpses was found beside Savile's house and Les battersby found another
serial killers top trumps is worth a buy if you like that kinda thing ... Ed kemper is a favourite of mine he reckons there was at least 50 active serial killers on the loose in America whilst he was in jail and I wouldn't disagree with that statement......ed was one of three active killers at the same time in the same state during the late 60s early 70s.
