On behalf of Finglas, September Player of the Month. The poll machine only allows a maximum of 15 choices, so sorry if I've left your favourite off. Sadly no space for Traore or bloody Luke Young.

There is a 5 day limit from now on the poll, after which it automatically closes.

Get a life Killy. The system posts the OP while you are putting the poll together. Plus I was called away briefly to ensure the crackling on the pork joint currently roasting is in tip top nick.

Sadly not, at least not on this occasion.

I was tempted to put Richard Dunne 14 times and Rob Green once, as I can't see votes going elsewhere.

Whoa, hold on there old boy, you get a life too on a relaxed Sunday afternoon (for me), likely early evening for you!

Enjoy your dinner, as will I (roast beef) - I love pork crackling though.

I think all you really needed to say was, the poll is up now and perhaps provide a brief explanation?

Thanks for explaining the poll "mechanics" though.

If possible I would vote for the entire back 5 (GK & Back 4) as without them in outstanding form we would not be singing our favourite "Top of the League" song.....

    But Chuck gets the vote.....

I voted for Barton, but wouldn't argue with Dunne. Let's hope that next month it's Krancjar or Austin.

Green for me, the defence has been solid but Green has pulled off several match-winning performances...

Green. Dunne has been very good, but he's been part of a great back 4. Green, however, has come back from a terrible year last year, applied himself excellently, and has only conceded 2 all season. In Sept he was unbeaten, and if your keeper does that, it breeds confidence for the players in front of him. The one time i've been able to get up to a game (v Brighton, so maybe not the most representative!) Dunne got very lucky a couple of times and was saved by others or an inexplicable kick by the forward after Dunne had landed on his arse, and that means I really can't give it to him over a player who has literally made no mistakes whatsoever all month.

Love the fact that we're debating between great performances over a month rather than just trying to find a crumb of comfort amongst a sea of dire appearances....

This is really a tough one.
Personally, I can't give it to any one of the back 5 as they have all been equally superb.
I'm going to go with Austin. He's had to settle into a new team, run his legs off as a lone frontman often receiving very little service and has chipped in with a few important goals already.
Imagine what he will do for us when he has Philips, Hoilett and Kranjcar fully fit behind him.
