31/8/19 -- Reading (away) … almost September …. my prediction 2-2 draw …. International break.... 14/9/19 -- Birmingham (home)…. my prediction 3-1 home win 21/9/19 -- Wigan (away) …. my prediction 1-2 away win 28/9/19 -- Leeds (home) …. the big one, my prediction as we are a bit of a bogey team to Leeds 1-1 draw Rose tinted glasses yes but I feel that there is no reason why we can't still be unbeaten by the end of September and still in the top 6. Also that would put us on 19 points by the end of September and a long way towards the first season target of 45 points for safety. AllHell
It’s nice to have a bit of a break from it in September. Even a point at Reading will mean it’s been a very good start. We would need a miracle against Leeds, who are the best side with the best manager in the Championship IMO. Birmingham is winnable, and Wigan should be good for a point. International call up injuries are a risk, and we have problems at right back with Solly & Oshilaja (sic) on the injury list. The two big positives from the opening five games are the team spirit - excellent as it was last year, and our plethora of attacking options. I’m not convinced by Leko but in Hemed & particularly Gallagher, we look to have signed a couple of quality players.
Very hard to call. Leeds Will be very tough, but we have revelled in playing the bigger teams in recent years. Wigan is a fairly bad place for us if my memory serves. for the moment I'm just thinking of Reading, but I will add that back around the time we had lost Dijksteel and Arribo, as well as last seasons loans, I genuinely wondered whether we could get any points at all against the likes of Blackburn, Barnsley and Forest.
I've been completely wrong in my predictions for this season, expecting to see us in the bottom 3 by now. I won't tempt fate by any more predictions beyond saying I expect our games to be tight affairs.
I was looking for 10 points from Charlton's first 6 games, and we've got 11 from 5 My next target is 18 points after 12 games played. Sounds a bit more modest perhaps, but there are some hard games coming up. 18 from 12 would put us well on the road to 30+ points by Christmas. If we can do that, even losing Taylor in January will probably not see the team dropping all the way back into the bottom 3. As an ambition though, I'm still hoping that Bowyer can keep up our amazing momentum and see Charlton not too far off 6th place well into next year...
Think we’ve all been pleasantly surprised by our results so far , hope people won’t go ott when we slip up
