    September 2015

Premier League (Sat 12 Sep 15:00)
    Arsenal vs Stoke

    Champions League - Group F (Wed 16 Sep 19:45)
    Dinamo Zagreb vs Arsenal

Premier League (Sat 19 Sep 12:45)
    Chelsea vs Arsenal

League Cup - Third Round (Wed 23 Sep 19:45)
    Tottenham vs Arsenal

Premier League (Sat 26 Sep 15:00)
    Leicester vs Arsenal

    Champions League - Group F (Tue 29 Sep 19:45)
    Arsenal vs Olympiakos

After a slow start to the season and the end of the transfer window we now know the squad we have and who we face in the first round of the league cup and CL group stages. After the international break we are back to proper football and it's a difficult September.

What results should we be looking for in these games? Which games are the priority? How will we be looking by the end of the month?

Should be beating Stoke and Leicester, and getting a draw at Chelsea.

If you think these fixtures are tough, just wait until we come back from the second international fixture break in October.

Yeah I'd be happy with 7 points from the league games.

I think we should be winning both our CL games too.

Not particularly bothered if we go out of the league cup but as it's against spurs I hope we put out a half decent team. But the league has got to be the priority. I wonder what youngsters we will see in the cup competitions this season?

I will be really pissed off if we lose in the League Cup to our shadow dwelling neighbours from along the Seven Sisters Road

Not the toughest run of games but i can see a couple of slip ups should we go back to our shaky form. We have three tricky fixtures there. Chelsea will be a much tougher prospect at Stamford bridge and a draw will be a very good achievement. Dynamo will be a tricky one but I can see a potential 1-0 in our favour. Spurs is an interesting game and it depends on how up for it we are. If we go in there properly then we should win, anything else will see us get dumped out.

Its early days with this team and the most important thing is to grind out the results and get some form under our belt.

I think its a much tougher run of games than people think.

Obvioulsy Chelsea is the standout fixture... however

Stoke are a side who often cause us problems.

Tottenham is always going to be a tough game

Leicester are currently on a great run of form and full of confidence.

The Chelsea game is ominous despite their poor form. It's a 12.45 Saturday game right after a Champions League match on Wednesday.

I think over the last couple of seasons we have looked slow when we play 12:45 kick offs. I'll be happy if we get a draw in that game.

Arsenal 2 - 0 Stoke in the first game of the month, hopefully more score lines like that throughout the month.

With Chelsea having a poor start to the season I'm confident in us getting at least a point in our next league game.

I always enjoy CL games too so I'm looking forward to our opener against Zagreb.

It's been a mixed bag of results so far with a win against stoke, loss at Zagreb, loss at Chelsea and then a win against Tottenham.

Hopefully this win spurs us on (see what I did there?) in our up coming fixtures and we end the month with wins in our next two games.

We should be getting the points against Leicester in the league and a win against Olympiakos would start to undo the damage of our first game against Zagreb.

Why do you only bump this thread when we win?

Go **** yourself. Everytime you reply to me it's to try and be a dick lol

After the Zagreb game A87 was spoiling for a fight and had responded so I didn't to avoid a confrontation, after the Chelsea game the discussion was all around Costa/Gabriel and later in the weekend a family member of mine was taken into hospital and so I wasn't available or in the mood to be on here discussing football. Any more useful contributions to the thread? No? Didn't think so.

    Anyway, back on topic:

Would anyone rest any players for either game we have left this month? It's going to be important to take the points against Olympiakos if we want to progress in the CL but at the same time we can't be dropping unnecessary points in the league when our form has been so shaky so far this season.

I think I'd go for our best team for the league game and then for the CL possibly rest one or two if they aren't fully up for it. A few of our second string are pushing the first team so I'm not too worried as long as we don't make wholesale changes. At least the CL game is at home so no long travelling to get in the way of preparation.

Ordinarily I'd be tempted to rest a few for Leicester and Olympiakos, but based on what has happened everytime we've rested players this season (and even the Spurs game wasn't a comfortable performance even against a weakened Spuds) then I'd probably say no to resting players, unless it was to bring in Gibbs or Oxo who both looked sharp.

I don't mind a few changes in one or two positions, but no large-scale changes because whenever that has happened, we look extremely average.

We need to be more or less full strength for the next three games. Obviously if for example against Leicester or Olympiakos, we're cruising the game and there's about 15-20 minutes left, then take a few vital players off if need be to conserve their energy, but we won't be playing again for 2 weeks after the United match, so we need to really try and get through the next three games with a full strength XI. I'd be happy enough with 4 points from the United & Leicester matches, and a win from the Olympiakos fixture. Anything less will be disappointing.

So a win against Leicester with some beautiful attacking football and goals galore.

Followed by a ridiculous loss to Olympiakos that may well have ruined our CL run for the season having only played two games in the competition and having not played Bayern yet!

Overall a really mixed bag of results for the month, with 6/9 points in the league (and for me the ref ****ed us right over stopping us improving that tally with a point against Chelsea), 0/6 in the CL with some terrible performances against teams we should be beating, but we knocked Tottenham out of the League Cup which was particularly enjoyable.

Overall I'd say I was happy with the month domestically but our showing in Europe has just been horrendous.

Why the need to separate it out domestically and in Europe? Look at it overall. We lost 3 games in that month. That is poor.

Last month was not good. The Chelsea result is somewhat understandable, but there are absolutely no excuses at all to lose to Dinamo Zagreb and Olympiakos, who are both very, very average teams.

Don't even get me started on the manager. Not just his team selection and tactics, but his comments too.

    This month was highly confusing.
We looked great against Leicester and United but truly awful against Zagreb and Olympiacos.

    Very much a mixed bag.

Looks like we are suffering from inconsistencies at the moment that we really need to put a stop to if we intend on challenging for the title. We are starting to fire now and playing some good stuff, we just need to grind out results when we aren't playing so well. Thankfully not many teams are doing this at the moment, and the first one to hit any consistent run wil be favourites.
