Only got round to watching his documentary last night.

Not a bad watch. Remember his death even though I was only about 10.

Very tragic but he didn't have pull some stunners.

    Go an san.

It's quite good. It was very biased but that was to be expected. He was some boy

The FIA cheated him big time. that french president was a ****

    It did seem that way.

    Bloody frenchies!

Not really into F1 but remember the impact his death had on the sporting world.

I've always followed it. Remember watching Senna die. I'll always remember the helicopter shot of him lying there with his race suit all cut off and blood everywhere. My old man said he's dead. Shame because it was a fairly minor impact, just got unlucky with the steering rod going through his visor. When you look at the crashes people walk away from now it looks like **** all. Kubica hit a wall at about 150mph and broke his foot.

Sorry Trev but the car was going flat out (operating at 106%) and hit a concrete wall.

Ps. Yes I did say 106% which was the Williams teams own data.

He hit the wall at about 130mph max which sounds a hell of a lot but he never broke a single bone in his body. Just got severely unlucky with that rod going through his visor. If it hit him anywhere else on the helmet he would of survived.

He had the rod cut and lengthened ( with a weld ) to suit his driving style and I'm not sure about the 130 mph tbh.

I stand corrected Trev the car veered off line at 195 mph and hit the wall at 135 mph, still not exactly a fender bender imo.

A very biased documentary. A true great of the sport but has romantically been elevated to another level.
He was unfortunate with the crash but it was a serious impact and without the neck braces they have today not one you simply walk away from.

Trev im not sure to what you are referring to with Kubica. If you are referring to his massive shunt in Canada memory serves he walked away without a scratch. If you are referring to his rally accident its much more serious. Mangled a leg and partially severed his left hand

Think he got away with nothing more than a slight concussion. Also if you think Balestre was a tit, what do you think of Bernie?

I don't like either of them but some of the stuff Balestre pulled was shameful. Changing the pole position grid slot to the dirty side of the track etc.

Oh, yay, Bernie Ecclestone. My favourite person in the world. Almost as great as big Flav Briatore.

One of the most unluckiest of drivers must have been young Henry Surtees. Talk about being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Poor kid.

A half truth from the film. Pretty sure the grid was changed pre qualifying before the FIA even knew who was on pole.
Senna made a bad start simple as that, Gerhard Berger started in 3rd on the same "dirty" side of the grid and was able to get alongside Senna into turn 1
