A number of senior players including Cody McDonald, Stephen Hughes, Steven Smith, Oli Johnson, Owain Tudor Jones and Anthony McNamee have been left out of tonight's friendly against Wroxham. Do you think these could be the players facing the axe from Carrow Road as they did not play against Gorleston either or do you think Lambert will give them their chance to show what they can do in later friendlies?

More cards close to chestness! I suspect those guys are for the chop, no offence to them but they have to go so we can move forward

4-0 atm. Dawkin with 2 goals of the goals. Adeyemi having a good game. I can see those 2 out on loan to league one sides this season. Dawkin has a bright future ahead of him me thinks.

Ended up 6-0, good showing from the youngsters by the sounds of it.

These players have been overtaken by events. Some were bought when we were relegated to Div 1 and others were bought by PL to help our promotion push to the Championship or to consolidate our position in the Championship. They then got left behind by our incredible rise to the Premiership. It seems obvious that if players could not get into the squad regularly last year then PL will not want them in his squad this year especially with the further additions he has bought. This arguement applies to the players mentioned in this thread already and also, probably, to a couple more. The problem is, as I have mentioned before, that wanting to get rid of players and actually doing it are two entirely different things. They are on decent contracts and whilst we would like to believe they would move to get a regular game, even if they had to take a wage cut , rather than just turn up for training and see out there contracts before leaving on a free, I have my doubts. Would you, or just as importantly your wife, be prepared to move to another part of the Country for a wage cut just for more job satisfaction? It will be interesting to see what outgoings there are in the next couple of weeks. If nobody comes in for the players already mentioned but the club gets a realistic bid for, say, Chris Martin, Simon Lappin or Adam Drury what will they do? After all we do need to get a few players off the books before the end of August.

Suprised none of those guys played if we are paying their wages, really to give wroxham a bit more respect. But then the youth players are handy

As 1950 says all have been passed by and won't get near the first team squad next season bar a massive injury crisis.

Only the juice, smith and macnamee were bought by lambert- feel a bit sorry for oli as he is young but he'll get over it. Lastly I thought Hughes might be champ level but he didn't get near the team

Also surprised they didn't play, I thought they might use these games to give them a run out a) to let scouts from other clubs look at them, and b) make sure they're match fit, as I can't imagine any clubs will want to buy players who haven't had any matches pre-season (and who will not be match fit)

Perhaps the next one (histon) will be used for these senior players?

Maybe the management just want a look at the youngsters against seniors preseason, they haven't disappointed.

We could do with a striker now as it looks like our new striker Adam Birchall has maybe done his Knee Ligaments.
