This morning I woke up and said to my lad: 'feeling a bit nervous about today. Need a win.' The lad shrugged his shoulders and said:' It'll be fine, Blackburn are in bits.' 'True,' I said, 'but we've not been playing too well ourselves. Anyway, we'll need to wrap up warm, 'cause it's gonna be cold.' We went into town, had a bank holiday lunch and I was persuaded to go to the cinema, forgetting everything about the match! It was 4.p.m before I twigged, just as the second half was kicking off. I spent the rest of the film getting an intermitent signal, trying to keep up with events down the road, whilst watching an animated film about cavemen - not the 'soul crew' by the way. Needless to say, I got a kicking from the lad; which was a bit rich, if you ask me. He should be helping his old man.
