Cardiff City Football Club can confirm that chief executive Simon Lim has stepped down from his role on Monday 9 June 2014.

Executive Chairman Mehmet Dalman, who will assume chief executive responsibilities at this time said, “On behalf of the board of directors and all at Cardiff City I would like to place on record my thanks and appreciation to Simon for his valued contribution over the last eighteen months.

“Following his appointment in 2012 Simon worked closely with the board, leading the management team and staff during a period of transformation at the club. He leaves with our sincere best wishes and gratitude.”

On tendering his resignation Simon said, “It’s with great pride that I held the office at Cardiff City, but feel now is the right time to move on, allowing the club time to make adjustments over the summer before another important season.

“I'm honoured to have represented the club during our historic promotion winning year and very much hope to once again see Cardiff City in the Premier League at the earliest opportunity. I am indebted to Tan Sri Vincent Tan and the board for giving me the opportunity and would like to thank the hard working and dedicated staff at the club for supporting me during my time in South Wales. I wish them and all associated with the club every future success.”

The club can also confirm the appointment of Ken Choo, who joins the club in the role of general manager.

A Bachelor of Commerce and a member of the Australian CPA, Ken is also a Chartered Accountant with the Malaysian Institute of Accountants and an Associate Member of the Tax Institute of Malaysia.

Having served as a Senior Auditor for PricewaterhouseCoopers in Malaysia, Ken has extensive management experience in the corporate business sector, including his most recent position as General Manager at Berjaya Hotels and Resorts in London.

On the appointment Mehmet said, “We are pleased to welcome Ken to Cardiff City in the role of general manager, adding a wealth of knowledge and experience as the club moves forward. Ken will be responsible for shaping the business, making us more efficient and getting the best out of our talented staff.

“Ken will also join the newly formed Executive Committee, alongside Ole Gunnar Solskjær, Tan Sri Vincent Tan’s representative and myself. The committee will openly discuss and agree all major decisions in the best interests of Cardiff City, which is a positive step for this club to take.”

So 'Teflon' Lim has finally gone. Did he jump or was he pushed?

How he kept his job after all the money wasted by Malky and Moody is beyond me. I would have thought it was his job to oversee and authorise major spending.

Teflon has lost his stickability at last.

The new man Choo looks to have a wealth of accounting and business experience. Lets hope he can successfully apply that to our club.

We'll see if Ken is the right man, but a change was needed and I welcome it. We seem to be getting things sorted slowly. I think Dalman is the calming influence and voice of reason in all this.

Getting things right off the field won't harm things on it.

I'm surprised that Ken has left his brother Kim in charge of their ailing transport company in Malaysia !

'Choo/Choo Trains' have been struggling along for a while now.

    I'll get my coat ...:frown:

Just read the article. Looks to be a lot of changes. Several off to Switzerland. Some marketing guy, Cooper and Connelly (the physio not the player).

Ole completing his takeover of the backroom staff?

Dick Bate has gone too. With his links in the FA I thought he'd have been an asset. Changes at all age groups.

I think this is Lim paying the price. He's been sent on an extended break, come back for a bit then resigned.

IMO he's been booted out like moody and Mm, just his friendship with Tan means it was done with a bit more subtlety.
