Being an old git myself, I figured a picture quiz featuring long past but in my lifetime F1 event's only, might be an interesting diversion rather than arguing about tyre issues etc.

So here goes my first attempt.

What a great idea for a thread, Ernie! I have an idea about your picture but rather than place a premature bet, I'll present another:

P.S. I cannot remember how to post a picture at full scale. Please help! (Instructions fit for a three year old would be appreciated…) ;)

Brilliant! Neither am I! –In fact, that's why I posted it. But I've changed it to something I do know!

Apologies for small image which needs to be clicked on.
(You did say something about "senior citizens" didn't you?)

Impressive! As you will know, this was very much in line with the Alfas of the day. (I actually thought you might say it was a 159!) Now the difficult bit: where when and who?!

(Also got to go out. See you later. Cheers. ©)

For some reasons you can only get pictures big if you post them from a url and not your computer, unless I'm wrong.

To do that click on the picture of the tree inside the black square with black dots on the corners and then the url tab. Post the url into the bar and unclick that box.

The easier way is to just add (

    ) around your image link

If you only have a image on your computer can I suggest www.tinypic.com as a image host. Once you upload it there it will give you a forum link that you can copy and post direct to this site

Yes, I am very saddened by this news. He reached the grand old age of 90: an exceptional age, especially for someone from an era which gave roughly only about a 66% chance of surviving less than just one year's racing.

Once again, impressive. It was the French Grand Prix and it was 1951!
However, I believe Entancelin drove car number 38.

One more chance, but, as the saying goes: two of three's not bad

Cosi, the driver was Guy Mairesse, finished 9th, driving the Talbot Lago T26C at Reims, French GP 1951
