Basically rather than starting new threads every time my site has something new to say I thought I'd start one where I can post new pieces on for people to read if they are bothered (most aren't football related) in the vain of cafc4ever. (and assuming this is ok with the mods?) Basically I want to be a literate Acworth. My site is www.sendawaythetigers.co It is a culture and current affairs site and I'd love for you all to check it out - there's several contributors and some really good writing and interviews. In case anyone is wondering 'Send Away The Tigers' is an old Tony Hancock saying for his drinking and depression. We are NOT tiger racists. Here's my latest piece: Don't Buy The Sun On Sundays (or TSOS...or TOSS) http://sendawaythetigers.co/2012/02/24/dont-buy-the-sun-on-sundays/ Thanks
Good article. Well written, considerably better than the Sun at least (Although that's not saying too much is it?)
For any stay at homes keeping up on the Chesterfield game on here - here's a piece by my colleague about the existence of a 'Black Community' It's quite a thought provoking piece on a largely untouched upon subject http://sendawaythetigers.co/2012/02/28/when-will-they-shoot/
A few new pieces > One by myself on The way British Culture is saturated by the USA http://sendawaythetigers.co/2012/03/07/im-so-bored-of-the-uksa/ And one by a colleague on Super Tuesday and The US Republican Candidacy http://sendawaythetigers.co/2012/03/05/super-duper-tuesday/ We're on Facebook now too http://www.facebook.com/pages/sendawaythetigers/260634910652832 Thanks!
http://sendawaythetigers.co/2012/03/13/the-falklands-sticking-the-knife-in/ Another new piece -who will defend the Falklands if it all kicks off? The real army are busy aren't they so perhaps the Barmy Army? The EDL (their name implies they may be game)? Chrissy Powell's Red and White Army perhaps? or Prince William's face? *** The actual article is better than I've made it sound!
I hope you're all still finding the time to check out my site every now and again? Here's our latest piece: Is Lauren Goodger fat? No. Of course not. But here's our top dietary advice ahead of a hectic eating Easter schedule for you all... http://sendawaythetigers.co/2012/04/05/im-overweight-who-gives-a-toss/#comment-167
New articles include: The Olympics & The Hosepipe Ban Conspiracy http://sendawaythetigers.co/2012/04/11/marry-me-jess/ French Elections (and how the French may be better than us) http://sendawaythetigers.co/2012/04/23/brest-is-best/
I've made the thread a sticky, so it will always remain at the top of the main page. Always interesting reads so I recommend it to all!
Very good Kish, but it still doesn't explain why it's taken two and a half months to get one of our Gallic chums to service my boiler - zut alors!
Thanks Super - very kind of you! And Tewks an earlier quote from you is featured in our Testimonials section “It’s very lively and more imaginative and succinct than most blog writing – thanks for sharing.” – TewksburyAddick (not606 forum) I also found this blog the other day that may be of interest: http://chicagoaddick.wordpress.com/
'Send Them All To Stoke' - A comedy of events that sees Newham Council suggest their poor suffering local residents move to Stoke-on-Trent where the living is cheaper - Is this Social Cleansing? Starring the BNP, Mick Jones's (from The Clash) cousin and the good people of Coventry. Now in Tecnicolour! http://sendawaythetigers.co/2012/04/24/send-them-all-to-stoke/
In the interests of a fair media we thought we'd talk up the Tories... They're not all bad are they? Here's our Favourite Tories, we salute you our Blue Brothers Who Is Your Favourite Tory? http://sendawaythetigers.co/2012/04/27/whos-your-favourite-tory/
What rhymes with 'Hunt'? A poem for our 'Culture' Secretary... http://sendawaythetigers.co/2012/04/29/the-jeremy-hunt-poem/
Pulp, The Stone Roses, The Happy Mondays and now we have the return of The IRA and their new shock tactics to create a unified Irish state. Not for the faint of heart. Here's an account of how they have been using Muller Fruit Corners to spread their Propaganda. http://sendawaythetigers.co/2012/05/07/bio-terrorism/
Today's article has been quietly controversial. It's a small attack on the Liberal Mindset after I read an article expressing how shocked someone was that the 'Sexist' Race for Life was allowed to happen. The ending joke/conclusion to my piece seems to have caused some aggro. Read it here: http://sendawaythetigers.co/2012/05/15/a-liberal-loving-paradise/ Meanwhile I've had my 8000th view today - I'm not sure if that's good but it feels it... So THANK YOU to any Not606er who's taken the time to have a read!
I'm sure some of you will be Republicans, so here's a pro-rebublican alternative to the media saturating us with the Monarchy. It compares the Queen to a Lava Lamp. And if Ponders is reading, praises King Alfred a little bit. http://sendawaythetigers.co/2012/06/02/queen-bitch/
Here's an Interview with former Paul Weller/Style Council Drummer Steve White. http://sendawaythetigers.co/2012/06/07/whitey-drums/ We talk his career and future, how he ended playing with Weller and his favourite memories. Steve is also a Charlton fan - he names his all time fave XI too in the Article.
