Seems like Celtic will be selling the top scorer over the last three seasons because a failing manager doesn't rate him. Frankly the sale of McDonald would spell the end of my support for Mowbray. Some people don't rate the wee man, but I do. Sure he has a bad first touch sometimes and likes a moan a lot of the time, however he is deadly when it comes to big goals. This kind of ability cannot be bought for peanuts. Mowbray came to Celtic with the promise of good football and success. Now I never expected him to get it right straight away and was fully prepared to give him an entire season to do this. That time is over for me. Celtic are no better off than we were 12 months ago under Strachan. We've signed a lot of unproven players who probably haven't even seen an SPL game whilst selling a good few players who thrived in the SPL, Hartley, Robson and Caldwell. Personally I didn't rate Caldwell but Robson and Hartley were "dig-in" players who knew how to defend a lead or keep on fighting until the final whistle. The main problem under Strachan last season was an inability to find the net and if anything that problem has worsened not improved. According to "paper-talk" Mowbray is running the rule over Dindane, Kamara, Abdellaoue and McCormack. I would only take McCormack out of those players at this minute and I certainly wouldn't sell Skippy to fund this move. Anthony Stokes is a proven SPL striker and that is exactly what Celtic need right now; someone who can get SPL goals. Never mind building a team, get the title won. I'm not saying Stokes is a "must sign" player but all these other guys (With the exception of McCormack) are unknown quantities in Scotland. At the end of the day the title was there for the taking this season if Mowbray had rallied the squad in July and had fully prepared himself to for such a high profile job. Media fall-outs, talk of disharmony, sending your ridiculously under-qualified assistant to press conferences and alienating the big personalities in the dressing-room. Selling the teams best finisher to sign unknown quantities is a massive and truly nonsensical gamble at this stage in an already bad season and in my opinion shows that Mowbray has failed already.
Venom WTF is Mogga doing ? should he not be trying to flog Shammy instead ? This is a mystery to me and shows that Tony does not really know what hes doing IMHO.not at the wind up here, but he is losing it fast.
I agree DC, the guy seems out of his depth. I personally don't think he's a bad manager or tactician, rather that he has just gone into a job that is above his capabilities. It can happen in any profession and some folk hit the glass ceiling and should just stay under it looking through. Celtic should bite the bullet and get Dalglish or some other old hand in to steady the ship until the summer. Either that or get Wilie McStay back ASAP and make him manager. In regards to Samaras; words cannot fully depict or illustrate how terrible this guy is. He has managed to convince some Celtic fans that he is a talent who just needs games or tuition. Some games the guy is pretty much a ghost. From what I've heard he was anonymous on Wednesday apart from missing another sitter. Just watched the first 25 minutes of the game today and he is playing in the position I now call the "Samaras Triangle" it's a bit like the footballing version of the "Bermuda Triangle" in that when you are there you go missing for no apparent reason!
dunno why the **** we are selling our top scorer. ****s on 606 are too thick to know that the wee man is a born winner. sammy is hot and cold but he's just a sore loser (i.e. comments last season)
He's going to Middlesbrough according to the most recent reports. Total joke really, even if we get ÃÆÃâÃâ ââ¬â¢ÃÆââ¬Â âââ‰â¢ÃÆÃâÃââÃÆââââ¬à ¡ÃâìÃÆââ¬Â¦ÃâáÃÆÃâÃâ ââ¬â¢ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¡ÃÆÃââââ¬à ¡ÃÆââ¬Å¡Ãâã4 million for him. As long as Rasmussen is in the starting line-up when he's fit and not Samaras. If I have to watch another Celtic game where our two strikers are on the wings and nobody is in the box then I might explode. Tactically Mowbray has got it wrong for months now. We all know he likes to have a big in-the-box striker flanked by two pacey wingers who can get crosses in. He also likes players who can pass a ball. Fair enough. Samaras and Fortune just don't work together. Putting Rasmussen and Fortune together could be the answer. Fortune likes to play off the shoulder of the defender and make turns and runs to the by-line in the box. We've all seen how good he is at finding that space and driving into it with power and pace. He can finish too. If the big man gets 12 goals in all competitions this year that is an excellent return for a second striker who spent 2 and a half months out with injury. So long Skippy, I'll never forget your goal against AC Milan that night. Couldn't see it because of the rain but still went absolutely mental. Goals against Man Utd and Rangers were memorable too.
McCormack for ÃÆÃâÃâ ââ¬â¢ÃÆââ¬Â âââ‰â¢ÃÆÃâÃââÃÆââââ¬à ¡ÃâìÃÆââ¬Â¦ÃâáÃÆÃâÃâ ââ¬â¢ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¡ÃÆÃââââ¬à ¡ÃÆââ¬Å¡Ãâã2m I think, Cardiff need to raise ÃÆÃâÃâ ââ¬â¢ÃÆââ¬Â âââ‰â¢ÃÆÃâÃââÃÆââââ¬à ¡ÃâìÃÆââ¬Â¦ÃâáÃÆÃâÃâ ââ¬â¢ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¡ÃÆÃââââ¬à ¡ÃÆââ¬Å¡Ãâã2.7m by February 10th or they will go in to administration. If McDonald goes I'd have to think long & hard about supporting the team under Mowbray. We can't score for **** at the moment & thats with Samaras in it, when McDonald was fit we didn't seem to struggle as much - the defence was a joke right enough!!! McDonald has said he doesn't want to go/ Mowbray with his stupid comments about having an interesting chat with the player makes me think he's cock. GTF Mowbray
