This is a ridiculous decision, to also not have anyone lined up shows absolutely zero forward thinking. I’m afraid this stupid decision will come back and bite us in the proverbials. Imagine last game against his team, we lose and they go into the playoffs. Some of the replacements people have suggested will have us going backwards, mind you going backwards is league one season after next….. if only I could just get the 5 numbers and 2 stars tomorrow and get this lot out of our club… I cannot understand the mentality behind this, blind leading the blind….**** sake !!!!!!
a few weeks ago, everyone was calling for his head, complaining about team selection, substitutions, style of play / tactics, results - now he's gone, everyone wants him back - get a grip ffs
I’d have kept Selles , but he swapped and changed players an awful lot , in general it was to get a point it seems , not to be attacking . He had Nordin in he played well as a sub. But then maybe not get a look in next time , players do not get match fit playing 20 mins here then a full match then 10 mins next time . A recipe for injuries and inconsistency .
Lincoln was technically a v good solid player with a great touch and strength , v rarely lost the ball - but he was no left winger !! As at Watford . He was one pace like most if our team . Selles put Joseph left wing he had a decent game then wouldn’t be there next time , it was curious as to the constant changes . Maybe he like to confuse the opposition?
I think it was probably more selecting players to tackle the opposition we were playing rather than anything else.
He swapped and changed players a lot, almost as if we made about 8 signings in January and it took a while to settle on a good team.. Not to mention the injuries and suspensions of course..
After first admiring myself, of course. I will now have to look in the mirror and ask myself a Question....Do I go back next season? Answer depends on the replacement and whether there is any sign that the squad is going to be improved. In order that we don't have a repeat of 24/25. Or if this decision is part of a managed decline of my club? I might get an answer around the second week in August. If I'm lucky...
Yeh, the style of play and the chopping and changing are things that left question marks over him for me. I was hopeful of improvements after the summer and that this was all about pragmatism, having to deal with a team bereft of confidence, and not having time to bed players in due to the precarious position we were in. On the other hand I did think that we had earned the right a couple of times to try and be less narrow and rigid. I think it's fair for most fans to be at the point of just wanting continuity and on the face of it Ruben absolutely deserved the chance to go again and see if we improve. But as I said in an earlier post, the most important thing is the the club is aligned and working cohesively, however that looks. It's just frustrating that there's no basis to trust that the club gets that right.
In the name of the Holy Hand Grenade, what the hell does that gibberish mean? Without any inside knowledge, I did wonder if all this delay might have been not them doing a lengthy review, but rather a lot of people trying and failing to persuade Acun not to do it. Otherwise it's really hard to see what they've got to base this decision on that they didn't have at the final whistle at Portsmouth.
He's trying to break that cycle by reappointing new managers he must hope will be more successful but it's descending into a maelstrom of his own making.
Acun sacks a manager every 301.5 days and if you take out Rosenior who was there for 18 months, it averages 218 days.
Soon there'll be a turnstile at the entrance to the coach's/manager office, instead of a door. We'll fast become the new Watfud.
Steve Cooper is Welsh, has an odd face and his dad was a referee. However, those flaws aside, he would be acceptable to me.
