I know, I know, I loathe and detest them but face facts, everywhere you go, they go - even rural Norfolk please log in to view this image (Courtesy of Resurgam, who parades around Sheringham most nights with one of these )
Brilliant lol (ow ffs) this'll make you laugh. I saw someone on Cromer pier with one the phone met a very unpleasant watery end when it fell off Christ it was hard work walking away without laughing. Almost as hard as not laughing at an old boy who was shouting at me on Blakeney Quay after he left his Bentley down there overnight & it got flooded by both high tides. Was hilarious when he started bitching at me saying there should be a sign (what this big red sign here mate?) lol Spent ages watching the water slowly drain out of it, after a while the only way you could tell it had been flooded was the fact the cup holders were full.
I used to live near Weston-Super-Mare and you used to see the tourists dashing back to their cars trying to save them when it was a high tide!!!!
Best summer ever working on the Quay car park. Liked the rich twats losing their cars but there were a number of people I felt really sorry for. One couple with a toddler didn't have breakdown cover so they joined rac quickly but if you do that on the day they'll only tow you 50 miles, they lived in Brighton.
Still happens JR along with idiots walking out to the sea when the tide's out and getting stuck in the mud!
That was me , trying to take a selfie with Carrington, the new 'pet' crab I'd just caught!! But all's well that ends well, Carrers tasted divine with Jersey royals and a crisp mixed salad (Do not even think about taking a word of this seriously.....)
Should've bought a Samsung Galaxy s5 they're water proof dontcha know, then all you'd need is done scuba gear and away you go (don't take any of this seriously either)
Plenty of them on Wells beach too, dunno why anyone raves about that beach, now East Runton that's much betererer but don't tell no tourists bout tat
If you walk between East and West Runton at really low tide, small pieces / islands of the chalk reef just offshore become exposed. Photo ops galore!
I love East Runton, great beach, very safe, easy access/parking, nearby pubs/shops probably my favourite all round Norfolk beach. Hate West Runton because of single track Road to car park & the old sea defences (great for rock pooling. Wife has a bit of a competitive streak where you start to find the chalk reef at low tide she was pulling edible crabs out.
It's OK for rock pooling but don't like West Runton too difficult to get in/out with that single track Road taken me over half an hour to get out before and it's private so my NNDC season ticket doesn't apply to that car park lol. Roll on Sept I am sick to death of bloody tourists, frigging nightmare.
Just try buying a pint of milk in Blakeney Spar & they're so unbelievably rude, drive everywhere at 25mph etc etc
I had my honeymoon in the Blakeney Hotel. It was that long ago, they had the builders in, and weren't even sure it would be completed in time! (Some of that was true)
When I was in London this year I wanted to snap all the selfi sticks off.... however this one has made that impossible.... they are evolving in Norfolk! Soon they will be unstoppable!
Mobiles are bad enough, people walk with their heads down looking at the pathetic little screen and then say sorry (sometimes) when they bump into you. Grrrrr!
Got married in Cley church, reception at Blakeney village hall & had a night at The Blakeney, woken up at 8am by kids screaming on the quay. I was not impressed. We did phone room service for a huge breakfast in bed lol
