A game we needed to win and we keep Noone, Bellamy, and Zaha on the bench. Malky built a bad squad, but Ole could have used some creativity on the pitch. At least I can look forward to the Championship now. Sell of some of the dross we have and use the money from them to keep a balanced squad. Should be about 9 going out and 4 coming in I hope. All those we sent on loan can fill most of the gaps in the Champ. Parachute payments will ensure we don't have any real financial issues over the next couple of seasons unless Ole blows it. Just build a decent squad to attempt to get back up in a season or two.
Will Marshall, Caulker, Medel, Noone, Mutch & Dahli be snapped up ? Get rid of Connolly, Whitts, & Smith. Zaha to go back to MU and Bellers to retire.
Excluding Dahli, who signed all thse people who will be sold on. Was it the guy who built a bad squad.
Marshall = Dave Jones Caulker & Medel = Malky Noone & Mutch also Malky but he did not play them that often too much class not dour enough. Daehli = OGS
I'll be shocked if Marshall isn't snapped up. Best keeper in the Prem imo. I think Caulker is overpriced.
If you sign 16 players having 4 of them as your best is no surprise. Also, I said he did not build a very good squad. This means addressing issues in the squad's balance many of which we carried over from the Champ.
Yes Malky signed a few good players, law of averages I suppose. BUT the ones he got wrong. School boy errors.
I can remember asking when you got promoted how many of your squad would be good enough for the PL. I had many replies that all your normal starting 11 were. Obviously either over estimated those layers or under estimated the PL>
Come on now Phill they have tried to get promotion with 3/4 of the starting 11 being loanees in the past. Can't remember how that worked out.
Nice try. Nothing wrong at all with loanees. But trying to gain promotion by fielding a team of 7 loanees from Prem teams, particularly when one is a Welsh International whose wages you couldn't afford in a million years without the parent Club paying them is a little different n'est ce pas? Of the ones you mention only JDG has played a significant part in our season but I'm guessing you know that.
Same old Jacks one rule for them another rule for the rest. a Loanee is a loanee not my fault you loan **** players.
Who said anything about rules? I never even suggested you broke any. You're a rather abrasive little man aren't you?
One thing the OP is right about - Zaha shouldn't have been on the bench - or even the bus/plane up to Sunderland - he doesn;t give a damn about Cardiff City. No drive, no determination, no confidence. He didn't "want" to put himself about against us yesterday. As a Sunderland fan, I have, over time, had to accept when we simply aren;t good enough - one thing we don;t, as fans, accept is not trying hard enough. If you know that the players have left everything out on the pitch then you know that your side can do no more. Fraizer Campbell left everything he had on the field. There was nothing left for him to give. Zaha left it back at his flat or wherever he lives. He is no good for a relegation run in at all
