What's not to understand? One is a former England captain and the other's a dirty foreigner Can't have the world thinking we're as bad as the foreign chaps now can we.
No it's the Suarez story about the FA diving their duty of impartiality when dishing punishments out.
don't worry about it! on its face the fa's ruling for squarez was idiotic. their rule allowing doubling of bans was never designed nor meant to be applied as it was with suarez. it was applied then to send a message, improperly using the rule in other words. here is the logic. 1. i call someone a black B or black C... ok i get a 4 match ban, thats seems clear and right doesn't it? rascim is stamped out even more harshly than violent conduct. 2. i do it a second time. i get double the ban. 3. i do it 3 times i am banned for life effectively. thats the rule thats very clear. now lets apply it to suarez and evra.. i've no evidence bar one guys word against another, i see on video a pinch ergo i conclude somethings gone on... fine thats one offence. i then throw in the referee and conspire to split the two to make two spearate incidents out of one incidence to double the ban. lets apply this to say another player who does get caught on camera calling someone something 3 times in a row... well by the surez lgic he must be banned for life.... by the terry logic he gets 4 matches.. all in all i'd be far more comfortable with the terry scenario... ESPECIALLY if you look at how players like say balotelli or barton have been trated over several snedings off in a season or "form" as it were... a harsher penalty is imposed. i think terry should have got his 4 match ban last season when he was injured (of in hiding if you want to really call it that) and that was an end to it. Suarez i am convinced did mouth off but nobody heard a damn word of it so he should have got a 4 match ban if you really believed something. I nshort i think the FA are guilty of being reacist in applying their rules differenlty to two different people. One kicked and screamed and moaned for months on end and even tried retiring to stop the fa banning him. The other had his DoF and manager effectively hang him out to dry through incompetance and was singled out to be an example... I think the FA should hang their heads over their handling of this as 115 page documents to justify inconsistencey is being pointless. Charging cole for calling them on it is just as bad IMO. rio ferdinand "agreed" or called" cole a racist term and got away with it effectively.... one could cynically argue hodgson is punishing rio on the fa's behalf... again compeltely wrong.
