Jenson Seelt will play his first competitive football in ten months at the Stadium of Light on Wednesday night Seelt suffered a major knee injury in March last year but is now back in full training with his Sunderland team mates and is expected to play 45 minutes when the club's U21 side face Benfica B in the Premier League International Cup. Ian Poveda is also set to play a part in the game, in what will be his first competitive football since suffering a hamstring injury against Derby County in October. The winger had returned to the matchday squad over the festive period but continued to feel some discomfort in his hamstring While midfielder Alan Browne is not yet ready to return to action, Régis Le Bris says the Irishman should be back in full training next week to add further depth and competition to his squad Still no news on Mundle though unfortunately. His 10 weeks expected injury time should be up by now?
Back in a couple of weeks apparently. Was diagnosed as 6-8 weeks on 23rd November (or at least that's when the story broke) so 8 weeks took us to last Saturday.
Hope Seelt comes back "fully fit"...the lad has genuine potential and it was a blow to lose hime for so long.
An added bonus really. If we can get him up to speed in say March time then just another option at cb and rb. Might focus our attention to a left back rather than right back this window
The premier league international cup? If we win that can we claim European trophy as the mags do with the fairs?
Great news all told but Roberts is our only natural "winger" fit atm. its our only real weak spot that has no cover whatsoever. I cant wait to see that rectified , until we do there's little chance of an automatic spot imo and the playoffs will be competitive to say the least..
