So. Does anybody have another team they kind of support? I support united by default as my uncle is a Mancunian and took me to old Trafford in 84 to watch us play sundlerland as ther was a slight chance I was going to start supporting spurs as I loved Glenn hoddle as much as I did Bryan robson. But as I grew up and my grandad was in his final years (he was a cricket fan) told me he was a wolves fan but before and during the war, before he went in at Anzio he was based outside London and went to see West Ham. All he did in his final years was bang on how much better West Ham were than anyone else.. So West Ham have a place in my heart.. The other team is Everton. My best mate from uni was from stourport which only custard will know what a **** hole it is.. his family were proper Scousers. All evertonians. So I used to go up Goodison with em all and loved it. They all knew I was a united fan and found my utter hatred of liverpool F.C. a joy to behold. He killed himself on my 30th birthday. So I also would love to see Everton put Liverpool in their own shadow. So there you have it.
Tiverton Town , lots of relatives live near there and I saw them in the fa vase final many years ago .
Nottingham Forest, I was living in Nottingham in my early 20's and started going along to watch them so I'm quite fond of them.
****.. Forgot about Portsmouth. That’s where I went to uni. Lived round the corner from fratton Park. Went to a few games and ended up in pubs with that long haired twat who always gets on the tv. Only good thing about Pompey games were the fights after. Remember millwall coming down and the whole of southsea just closed. Was apocalyptic.
I didn’t go to that game. I was meant to be working.. I worked at Tesco in southsea. I walked to work at 8am and all the shops on the night street were boarding up their windows. I worked til 12 then we boarded up the windows. Got paid til 5 mind. Then went to a pub near the ground and got stoned. Ended up at in gosport snorting horrible things.
Neither.. Used to get great weed down there. Straight off the docks. Place I went to was something ville petersville?? Is it? Anyone confirm this? Was almost under the motorway that led into pompey. Proper ****hole.
Is there anybody you don't like? My second team is Vitesse Arnhem. I'm up to game number 9 now watching them live. They play in a lovely little stadium named The Gelrodome and before kick off Hertog the Eagle fly's around the stadium. I've seen some canny players there, I was there when Vincent Jansson played for Alkmaar and he ripped Vitesse a new asshole that day. Lewis Baker looked very impressive, he's playing in the Championship now. Hopefully I can get there early next year, it's just hard at the moment with work commitments.
Fair enough . I like Tiverton Town , not a clue how they are doing though , normally hear from a cousin , but she’s not saying much .
I support only one team. There have been sides that, during parts of my life, I have kept an eye on and felt good when they did well. Stevenage, being prime amongst them.
Berwick Rangers. Poor buggers have to cross that barren border every other week to play their matches. Well beyond the call of duty if you ask me.
I don’t have a second team but I occasionally keep an eye out for Ajax and Fenerbahce results. Amsterdam’s one of my favourite cities and on my birthday a few years back, the boys got tickets to Ajax - PSV as a present. Pre-match party was nuts and our seats were practically in the F-Side area. Loved it, atmosphere beats anything in England. One of my best mates was up until recently the leader of one of the GFB Europe sections. Been to see Fener - Sheff Utd at Brammall Lane for a pre-season game and I’ve gone to their social club a few times to watch matches and party with them.
I lived on Tiverton Road at uni and sort of adopted the mighty yellows from afar. They’re doing well this season last time I checked.
