just read a few comments on other threads this morning ref: players leaving, joeys comments and all the transfer rumours etc...

i am disappointed that nolan's off especially as we have now sold our 2 top goal scorers within 6 month's of each other, but i always thought carroll would only show his worth by his performances next season, whether for us or another team. When a new face shows up in the prem, they sometimes take the leagues defenders by surprise in the first season, but are sussed out in the 2nd, either the player himself or the supply line.

Nolan and barton dropped off a bit in the 2nd half of the season, but still would have had them in the team. With ben arfa back, tiote a rock and cabaye coming in you have to start thinking where would nolan fit in? He gets goals, was a decent captain on/off the pitch, but sometimes disappears from the game.

Going into our 2nd season back, we have the prospect of a new front line, a revamped midfield with possibly the zog back, ben arfa and gosling, which could be the difference between mid table and pushing on to top 6-8.

Demba Ba has to show the promise he showed for west ham (if we get him), would DJ Campbell be worth a punt (would cost peanuts) although he might turn out to be a 2nd season monkey too.

first post so be gentle :p

Guten Tag and bienvenue sur not606!

I'm waiting to see what the squad looks like when they head off to the States before assuming whereabouts in the league the team could finish.

I think there are still a few more outward bound players but that will be offset by more inbound players for positions we know require bolstering.

I'd avoid buying DJ Campbell as well.

I'm worried about our left back situation. I'm just hoping the club have enriques probable exit covered. Taylor coming in is not a replacement, that's my biggest worry at the minute.

I think we were linked with someone at Toulouse for LB.

for LB what about warnock? he had a couple of decent seasons when he was at blackburn, then it all kinda went wrong at villa, not in his 1st season, but when houllier took over. Did he turn to crap overnight or clash with the manager. If you look at his apps per season he doesnt seem to be injury prone either?

Apparently we ended our interest. That's when all the rumours of Jose staying started.

If Jose does leave then I'd reckon interest will be picked up again. He ticks all the boxes for the new club ethos of buying players.
