Definitely. But who from the chasing pack would get top dog if not us? Leicester for me after Watford lost a 2 goal lead v. Palace last night.
We just need the chasing pack to thin out a bit. 4 teams within a point of each other. That is likely to spread a bit this afternoon, but when there's one chasing rather than 4 it will be a little more comfortable. Interesting that MM was at the game last night for the TV. Thought he'd have wanted to be ready to be with the team. Suppose there are some oblgations as part of the TV deal.
That's a NO from me, from where we are now I think 2nd will be the worst we will end up. So let's go for the silverware.
A man after my own heart there DJ. Finishing second would be enough to get us there, bit it would still bring the bottling jibes that we've just scraped in. We've had to endure it these past years, so let's put it to bed once and for all. Go all the way - take the top slot and trophy (and 100 points would do very nicely thank you).
That's my boy! However, for me with the clock ticking, and the realisation that I have probably only about fifty years left. I'd snatch your hand off...or I would hand off your snatch, whatever!
It's called heart ruling head Hilts. I know it could still all go tits up, but after last night's result and being 10 points ahead of the pack with also a couple of games in hand over Watford and Palace, dropping to second spot at the death would be a disappointment. Playing Premier League football is obviously the goal by whatever route, but I'm sure we can achieve that as Champions.
But the question is would you take second spot NOW. I really do think with a yes or no answer as the only option then the majority would reply yes. If the question is would you take 2nd spot at the end of the season now or rather go for the silverware the majority would then plump for the silverware. Pedantic? Probably but correct methinks.
Champions for me, wouldn't like to be promoted whilst on a slide which is what it would be if we finished second from our current position
I can tell you now I wont be disappointed in any way if we finish 2nd. In fact if there was 4 games to go and we were 10 ahead and finished 2nd id still be delighted. Particularly if the carrot boys get relegated.
We're 20 points ahead of the 7th team in the table so it's probably fair to assume, barring a spectacular implosion that we're in the playoffs. If the question is would you take second now over a shot in the lottery that we've failed in before, the answer would be a simple yes. Perhaps that is the question? It sure ain't over, but I'd trust this squad to take one of the auto spots right now, and I see no reason why not as Champions.
Sparkey after the Blackpool defeat and the end of season collapse with us missing the play offs at Wednesday I will be delighted with promotion whatever way it comes. Come on no City fan however we get there will ultimately be disappointed however we go up. I think i'll be drunk all summer. Anyway I do think we will be Champions.
