We were totally overrun by the hammers. As everybody knows we should be over the moon just to get a point after that. Now i want to know was it because we were so rubbish or hammers were so good?

They simply used their midfield superiority to keep us under the cosh, that's why Harry made his changes. They used the long ball to their advantage and we just had to battle to hang on. They always had a pair attacking wide on both sides which is where 46 crosses came from. That game highlighted our weaknesses and should be viewed as a good point...

We hardly had the ball. When we got hold of it we couldn't keep it. Ale should have come in for SWP or Mackie to help with that problem.

I thought that we did well for the first 20 minutes or so but decided to retreat after the 1-0. Totally happy about the point which was very lucky of course as they could have hammered us. The inabilty of players such as Hill and Derry to keep the ball a little longer made the difference. After the poor start I was amazed how WH came back and totally ruled the game showing passion and a lot of skill. On the other hand we could see some improvement from our team and now the luck is back again - we can still stay up.

I thought we were far too panicky in possession. When Cesar had the ball we were constantly looking for the early ball forward rather than re-grouping and taking a few seconds out of the game. It's easy to say with hindsight, but it wasn't Derry's best game and maybe Faurlin would have held the ball better and fed Taarabt who looked a threat whenever he had it and was always able to get the team up the pitch and draw fouls from their midfield.

Just a bad day at the office in terms of performance, nothing to worry about too much. Better to take the positives out of getting a point despite West Ham launching approximately 769 balls into our box and Jarvis having most of East Ham.

Yup. It was a good point. We held on well. A much improved defensive performance by us compared to the beginning of the season.

West Ham had a tough game in the week and were still all over us, we must improve and now
    No more gelling time allowed

We are hugely improved but I think Hughes has just left Harry too much to do. I hope we can bounce back if we are (inevitably) relegated. Wolves, Bolton and Blackburn all having a tough time in the Championship

If we don't get at least three more quality players in we'll be done for because this squad at present isn't good enough to win at least six, if not more, games...

Yes, the result against hammers away wasn't neccescerily bad, but we were really hammered by them on the second half. We have to play better and have to get much more possesion of the matches. Everybody knows, that its hard to win matches when you have the ball only 30 per cent of the matches. We can only hope to have a stronger midfield for the rest of the season. Derry is good choice for last 15 min or so when you fightin for your life and leading by a goal. Other than that he is in the wrong league. Everybody knows we have keep ball more and that requires much more skillfull midfielders.
With Granero (when will he be back?), Faurlin and possibly M'vila it would be a midfield that could keep the possesion, but there is not much time left.
