Now that both Fabianski and mannone have confirmed they want to leave who do you think we should get as our second choice keeper. We've been linked with both Craig Gordon and jack butland. Personally i would prefer butland. Gordon is great but very injury prone. In addition butland has hot the much needed experience on loan (similar to chesny) and seems to have great reflexes and commands his area well. I doubt an experienced goalkeeper would be willing to play second fiddle to chesny. Martinez has great potential but is not as mentally strong as chesny and definitely requires a extensive loan spell as he was apparently very nervy on loan in his one match stint at Oxford Jack butland vs Spain http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rc...n4nJDw&usg=AFQjCNF6I3W1d0wvBg4lN79v36x8cuG5hw
Would go for an experienced keeper who is willing to sit on the bench. But, I doubt that this issue is very high on Wenger's 'to do list' for the summer.
Paul Robinson? Blackburn got relegated, not his fault, so he'd be cheap, and appreciate a return to a big side. I know he has a history of playing for poor sides (cough, spuds, cough)
Wayne Hennesey Paul Robinson Martin Fulop Robert Green Tomas Sorenson Kuzcha...Whatever That Man Utd's GK name is
Suggested this a week or so ago and was told in no uncertain terms by Spuds that he'd never join us. They used links to emphasise their points too which was nice of them. Think he'd be ideal if he could be convinced to come here. I think we need a quality 'keeper who can put pressure on Chezzers to stay at the top of his game.
I doubt Wenger has a to do list - its all so random these days he just seems to make it up as he goes along.
There's also a video on Youtube of him singing stand up if you hate Arsenal. Definitely one to give a miss for you guys. Butland would surely need to go out on loan again anyway so I would've thought someone like Stockdale, Begovic or Al-Habsi would be good backup. Knowing Wenger he's probably got a 17 year old from Luxembourg lined up to sign if Fabianski leaves.
That was the one! Can't blame him one bit, always find it distasteful when players switch from one rival to another but he's the sort of standard I'd like to see us go for. Al-Habsi is a very useful keeper and I'd be stunned if he was willing to be no.2 in the league. Wouldn't complain though!
