John Henry is giving Aqua and Ngog a second shot at making it.

'One missing link last year: Acquilani (sic),' Henry wrote on Twitter.

'Put the ball near Ngog and the goal and it's going in. Too much talk of them somewhere else.'

If Aqua's performance in Malaysia is a taster then the second chance is more than worth it.

As for Ngog, I'm less sure. His control appears to have improved and he still has pace but somehow he's yet to fill me with confidence

I'm happy for both of them Aqua more than Ngog obviously but shouldnt Henry stay out of it. If Kenny decides Ngog to go will John butt in or will Kenny not try to offload them after reading Henrys comments

Ngog seems to be starting to find his feet though... if he can control his first touch and learn to get a bit more consistent with his shots then he could be a revelation in the mould of Torres (not quite, but same sort of style).

Aquilani should definetly be kept, so should Meireles. It does mean however that we could do with loaning out Shelvey and Spearing for some experience.

Obviously, I don't know, but I sense that if John Henry got the reply "We've got/just about to buy better" then John's reply would go along the lines of, " OK guys, I'm still learning about this game"

Problem is that it's not true, Ngog may improve but he's not good enough for the prem at this time.

A slight exaggeration on Ngog and you know I've defended the guy more than most. But brave for JH to say in the face of what must've been considerable fan disdain on the Twitter.

It makes me think he's picked up on some backroom talk that Big Dave's getting unfair criticism.

He improved season on season. No reason to think he couldn't continue that.

Thought Alberto, was certainly one of our better players second half of the 09/10 season. Was a little surprised he got farmed out to Juventus last season, but there again Rancid Roy's idea of football, i'm not surprised.

He could be a huge asset for us, this season. Injury free, with runners around him. Could well become an important part of the team.

    Ngog is ****e..end of.

I do not think you get to decide when the end is.

Ngog isn't brilliant but I definetly see an improvement during pre-season.

As I've said his first touch still needs work, he could also do with getting himself in better positions. Too often he stands in the second striker role when he's the primary striker; mainly because he's used to being the understudy to Torres. Add to that he could do with working on his 1 on 1 situations; then we've got quite a striker on our hands.

The best part is.. all of those things can be taught and especially with Rush standing on the wings and Fowler surely retiring soon (surely...?) then with the right guidance I think Ngog could become quite a striker.

Let's all not dismiss him so quickly, I remember us all biting our tongues with a certain Lucas.

Yea he is, but he's 36 - can't see him playing for a year after that.

Could potentially loan him out to Sunderland or someone else in need of a striker?

I don't think Aqua has had much of a first chance to be honest, I definitely want him to stay. Ngog has had chances and I seem to remember him having a good early/pre season before and then failing to make much further impact. I think he has talent, but I'm not convinced he can make it at the top.
I'm also unsure about the wisdom of our owner discussing these matters on twitter, though I'll admit I'm way behind the times on such things.

Always said Aquaman should stay. Anyone got highlights for the game?

I do generally want N'Gog to go, but if he can prove his worth and earn another shot by scoring in more friendlies then i'm happy.

Still won't ever be first choice.

Should he be coming out and saying things like this ? Let the manager pick the team / squad and who he wants to sell.

Call me mad,I reckon Joe Cole should get a second chance. If there were a choice between keeping him,Poulsen and Jovanovic,I would keep Joe Cole.I don't know what it is,I like him as a player, funnily enough I've always rated him.

I think get rid of all 3. If a club offered anything over £2mil for Cole then I'd bite their hands off! Would save £90k a week on wages as well.
