Thought I'd get a silly thread going, afterall I haven't done one for a while, so here goes... Other than our beloved Charlton: Who are your second team? What is your favourite football club name? What is your favourite kit? What is your favourite ground? Your favourite chant? I'm aware many of you probably won't have an answer to some of these, but would be nice to hear some responses.
Other than our beloved Charlton: Who are your second team? Erm...Kidderminster, only because I have family there What is your favourite football club name? No idea What is your favourite kit? Claret and Blue, so West Ham, Aston Villa or Burnley What is your favourite ground? Both St James' Parks (Exeter and Newcastle), Villa Park, Hillsborough Your favourite chant? The Swansea one

Second team - Wimbledon/Welling Team name - Plymouth Argyle/Corinthian Casuals Kit - Norwich/Bradford/Bradford/Plymouth Stadium - Bristol Rovers Chant - 'ooo-rah, we are Exeter' or 'Ole-Ole-ole-ole, Bristol City!'
I do enjoy a 'pointless' thread, just so long as it hasn't been started by a certain someone... Other than our beloved Charlton: Who are your second team? Ac Milan... the 1994 Uefa Champions League Final team of Rossi, Panucci, Tassotti, Baresi (suspended but there in spirit), Maldini, Donadoni, Desailly, Albertini, Boban, Massaro, Savićević is the best I've ever seen. The 4:0 thumping dished out to a quality Barcelona side including the likes of Romário and Hristo Stoichkov is my 'second favourite game of all time'. What is your favourite football club name? AFC Wimbledon, imo they stand for all that football should be about. What is your favourite kit? The red and black stripes of Ac Milan. A truly iconic kit that is instantly recognisable. What is your favourite ground? Signal Iduna Park (Borussia Dortmund's ground). Went there to watch them play 1860 Munich for a boys weekend p**s up and the atmosphere was absolutely different class. The stand behind one of the goals holds 26,000 people, simply a delight to behold. Your favourite chant? When I was a little boy my daddy brought me a wonderful toy, a Palace fan hanging on a string he told me toâ¦
1. The Seagulls, lived there for eight years, genuine second team as in I went whenever I could and Charlton weren't at home. Similar struggles with grounds etc. Fans Utd at the Goldstone with Gritty managing was one of the best non-Charlton days out I've ever had (mind you there were loads of us there) Saw Robbo before the rest of you. The Palace thing. 2. With Franco all the way, AFC Wimbledon. I love the idea of Franchise FC looking over their shoulder whenever they hear it. 3. I love quarters so Sutton Utd (I saw Bailey before you too!) or Corinthian Casuals- The Old Rose and Chocolate has a little more class than Nicky's previous strip of Chocolate and Amber I reckon. 4. Craven Cottage, a ground of character in an age of big, bland cantilever stands. Lovely walk from the station. The neutral stand is a quality idea and often full of bonkers people. It's the only ground apart from The Valley and the donkey sanctuary that I have viewed a game from all four sides. 5. See 1. "We hate Palace or than you". I'm surprised there isn't more of a special relationship between the two clubs!
I would love to see the Wombles overtake the Franchise in the league. No offence to the good people of Milton Keynes which is city which is big enough to support a league team, but what about about all the non-league clubs that have been striving for promotion for decades only to see the Franchise get a free pass? Disgusting! Totally agree that AFC Wimbledon stand for all that football should be about except for their name. Names starting with AFC are pretentious and untraditional in the UK. I believe Bournemouth were the first? Some of the Scottish clubs have quaint names, like Forres Mechanics, Hamilton Academicals, and Kirkintilloch Rob Roy (which produced one of my all-time favourite Charlton players).
Eddie, I'm with you in not liking the 'AFC' name-trend, but if you look it up there's a fair few teams who use it. Maybe it exists for the sole purpose of beginning the season top of the league... Good shout on scottish team names, speaking of 'foreign' teams, am I the only one who dislikes names such as 'BSC Young Boys' or 'Old boys' etc.? Also Dynamo Kiev sounds like an 'Icelands own brand' Spicy stuffed Chicken dinner'.
Other team- Kilmarnock Love Craven Cottage, good atmosphere. Favourite chant was a Celtic one when Ragers bought Colin Stein foe £100,000(a lot of money then) A hundred thousand down the drain Yer better aff wi' Lex McLean(a Scottish comedian)
I understand why you might not like the name but I don't think it is fair to suggest There was any pretention about AFC Wimbledon! I think they chose it because Wimbledon FC was taken.
Who are your second team? Liverpool My Dad's from there What is your favourite football club name? Young Boys of Berne (stop sniggering at the back !!) When I was a child I was convinced that I could play for them as their name indicated that it was a boy's team What is your favourite kit? Barcelona It's just a classic imo .. they might muck about with the away kits but this is still one of the iconic kits and has been for as long as I can remember What is your favourite ground? St James Park Went there years ago for a game between NUFC and Port Vale ... amazing atmosphere, and the ground was barely half full Your favourite chant? Most of the Leeds chants are worth stealing as they always seem very loud and passionate
Other than our beloved Charlton: Who are your second team? Don't have one. What is your favourite football club name? Paris St Germain What is your favourite kit? Atletico Madrid What is your favourite ground? Allianz Arena or Vicente Calderon Your favourite chant? ''We've got Di Canio, you've got our car stereo'' or ''if you tolerate Rix, then your children will be next''. It was to the tune of manic street preachers ''if you tolerate this'' and was sung after Rix and his, ahem, scandal.
Other than our beloved Charlton: Who are your second team? Torquay,,,,,,due to many happy childhood holidays there What is your favourite football club name? CarpetMunching Gladback! What is your favourite kit? Juventus What is your favourite ground? New York Giants & Sydny Football Stadium (rugby league but a fab stadium) Your favourite chant? Oh Andy Hunt, he plays up front................
Buckie Thistle Deportivo ****a (Peru) Barca Nou Camp - been there full, amazing Outdated now but the obvious "He comes from Portugal, he ****ing hates Millwall, Semedo oh oh oh oh"
"It was founded in 1996 and is named after the ****as people who formerly inhabited the area" Brilliant
Who are your second team? I've seen a lot of Cheltenham (closest team) and Morecambe (Mrs TA's home town team) so I'd guess it's them What is your favourite football club name? Deportivo ****a, Young Boys Berne, Go Ahead Deventer What is your favourite kit? Portuguese National Kit What is your favourite ground? Old - Craven Cottage New - Galpharm Stadium Your favourite chant? For Park Ji-Sung... "He shoots, he scores, he'll eat your labradors, la la la la, la la la, la la
On the subject of chants for the umm 'orientals', I always loved: "Zheng Zhi wherever you may be, you sell dodgy dvd's..." Can't see how any player would enjoy their own fans singing a song like that Also love the two controversial Adebayor ones "Adebayor, Adebayorrrrrr, his dad washes Elephants and his mothers a whore" "Adebayor, Adebayorrrrr, he used to like coach trips, but not anymoreeee" Now, how long til I get accused of racism and this thread becomes another 'political thread/one about race', I give it ten minutes
