(at free kicks in the Prem) http://www.manchestereveningnews.co...l-news/mata-named-most-deadly-premier-8482163 Must admit I was suprised as it felt like he'd really lost his touch until very recently - I guess you only realise how many free kicks get missed when you watch the player week in, week out. In my head, the likes of Ronaldo, Rooney, Van Persie, etc. scored every other free kick they took!
That's rather impressive over such a long period of time. Just toes to show his efforst ar better than he is given credit for. The unfortunate thing for us and Seb is a lot more hangs on his chances than for the other top teams, who create more.
I do love the fact it says "of all time" in the title even though it is only referring to the Premiership era. This then becomes funnier when they clarify it is only involving figures since 2001. Someone should really explain to them what "of all time" means... Still great stats for Seb though.
To be fair it does best Premier League free-kick taker of all time, not best free-kick taker of all time. Good point on the dates though. there's about 9 years missing. He clearly got his stats from the internet. I do that and I've noticed there isn't any statistics prior to the turn of the century. Maybe I should be looking for work in the field. I can collect statistics from the net piece of piss.
We went through a patch where Gardner took every free-kick despite him scoring 1 in about 50 attempts!
