A few people thought Larsson could do with a spell on the bench before yesterdays game. I have been very impressed with his workrate up until the last few games. After the quarter final defeat I was dissapointed with Larsson purely because I know he is better than that performance however, yesterday he had a full return to his best form. Upon yesterdays performance (even without the goals) I think he played very well and I was very impressed that he managed to make his way into the box when tucking away the 3rd goal.

What are the general thoughts about Larsson today?

I was one who wanted him rested, maybe thats why I'm on here and MON got the managers job, 2 goals and worked his socks off, says it all.

I, like Syd, thought he needed a rest, but he was outstanding yesterday.

7 from right midfield is a fantastic return, I wondered, with the timing of both runs, should he play in the middle?

    Bendtner
    Sess
    McLean Seb Gardner
    Catts
    Jack Killa O'Shea bardo
    Mig.

That looks a good set up to me, if Seb gets the ball around the edge of the box, he can score.

I said he wasn't the answer to Sunderlands right wing after the quarter final. Maybe he reads the best forum in the world and embraced our viewpoints as a little pep-talk!

He's got the talent and I really like him. I won't ever forget his performance in the 1-0 win over City at the SOL. He just needs to keep on consistently turning up like he did yesterday.

I suppose it shows just how far we have come when we are dissapointed with the quality of a player like Larsson. We need to keep our feet on the ground although dream at the same time and finding the right balance is sometimes a little trying!

He was my most favourite signing over the summer and yesterday showed why, good at set pieces and has a great work rate, love the guy, and still did after the everton game

I wondered if that virus he had a few weeks ago had affected him. I had the flu about 4 weeks ago and was unwell for a few days and I still don't feel 100% yet. For a professional sportsman being a small percentage off their best physical condition makes all the difference I reckon. Anyway I was glad to see him back to form yesterday, let's hope he maintains this level to the end of the season.

With 10 games to go I did a player of the season post and Larrson got a lot of votes. I thought his form had dipped and that he was woeful against Everton.

However a welcome return to form. Maybe he has been struggling with a knock as he does seem to give all for the cause.

For me one of the iconic pictures of the season was the home win against city when Larsson passed the ball to start off our goal and then dropped to his knees because he had nothing left to give
He's by no means the only player to give his all under MON but just thought that shot captured it all.
Also there was a great picture of him on Fancast as one of the bargains of the season.
He had his shirt off and have to say he's the best piece of eye candy we've had at the club since the days of Lord Rowell

Was too technically inept to post picture for you to make your own decision on it but have - hopefully - made it my profile picture.
After all the semi naked women yesterday - including the 1 with pneumatic knockers that made me feel totally in adequate - needed to balance the books a bit
