Well, having only just plucked up the courage to open my eyes in the haze of post Paddy's-Day carnage, I was on facebook when I saw my mate talking about Seb Larson being out in Durham last Saturday.

One of his mates (which essentially means this holds as much credibility as the 'mate's gardeners girlfriend's butcher' stories) was talking to him and asked about him coming to the Toon in the summer, apparently his response was 'maybe, you'll have to wait and see' with a cheeky smile.

So, with his contract due to expire in the summer and him being available on a free, would anyone be disappointed if the rumours are true?

How do you see him fitting in to the team, would you start him? If so, why not demonstrate it in a juicy bit of formation porn!

Wouldn't mind him. I think he's better than Raylor but Barton's better than him. He'll be a very useful and good squad player IMO and will give us some strength in depth/competition we badly need. He's versatile, he can be a emergency full-back and play in the middle if needed so that's a good bonus. I'll have him if he wants to come, if he's on reasonable wages and doesn't mind being on the bench/acting as cover for some time.

He's quite versatile, good at set pieces, loads of experience and won't have huge wage demands so yes. Snap him up I say!

I'd be inclined to agree with you...I guess it all depends on how Pardew strengthens in the summer and what kind of system we adopt.

The only position I think is completely guaranteed is Tiote's in CDM, Barton/Ben Arfa/Nolan all have a shout for CM next to him, Barton/Larson/Ben Arfa on the right, Ben Arfa/Gutierrez on the left...

I think I'd prefer us playing a 5 man midfield with Nolan and Barton on either side of Tiote, Ben Arfa and Gutierrez out wide in RW/LW.
