Watching Wolves today, I cant help but think what could have been for Bassong if he had stuck it out with us.

He had potentially a starting birth every game but yet again greed came around and hes ended up with wolves who look certain to crash into the championship.

He was young and potentially could have been a key squad member.:emoticon-0116-evilg

Makes me laugh when these people jump ship and go nowhere, alongside Martins, beye, carroll to name a few.

This guy was a nobody and we give him his chance, now he can rot and end up with doncaster rovers....just like Habib Beye :emoticon-0103-cool:

Would much rather him than Simpson, Perch or Williamson right now.

Not good enough that we have to watch those crap players week-in-week-out.

Simpson, Willo and Perch all paid their dues in the Championship. Bassong was far more talented but doesn't strike me as a battler when the chips are down. Its a shame, he was fantastic in that one season.

Apparently Beye only left because Shearer wasn't appointed when we went down. Meh.

10x the player Simpson ever has been.

Cant criticise Beye. Gave his all for the club. I'd say he was probably our most defensively sound right back in the Premier League.

We're all jumping on Bassong's back but moving to an upwardly mobile Spurs was not a bad move for him in the circumstances. It would have been nice for him to have stayed on with us but at the time I doubt he was thinking "I'd rather be a Tottenham reserve getting loaned out to Wolves in 3 years time, rather than stay at Newcastle playing regular first team football."

Talented lad but behaved like a complete ****head in his latter days here. Wouldn't have him back and the grass isn't always greener. To be fair he was probably right to move on from us at the time, he just went about it the wrong way. But that is more likely to be down to bad advice than anything else. We've moved on, he has, everyone is a winner.
