I'm not sure if anyone else has raised the subject but what do you think of the new system? Being an ambassador I currently get my seat at a very competative price but what of the fans who select games, find it difficult to commit to a season ticket or just walk up on the day think? Sports & Entertainment Analytical Ticketing System analyses ticket sales and buying patterns and was introduced at CCS for the first time this season. The alternative to the old tiered system sees a greater fluctuation in ticket prices, some good some I feel bad. Recently a walk up ticket for the Leeds game apparently cost almost £32. Using the Leeds game as a benchmark, do you think our numbers were reduced due to the new ticketing policy? Or is football in the current climate generally far too costly for many? Should there be a cap on the upper price?
It definately had an effect on the crowd as I know fans who didnt go because of the cost. Matches are now live on the internet. It doesnt help that its expensive for families. Something needs to be done about the Family Stand. Its a sell out but theres always empty seats. Families who want to go cant afford to.
'should there be a cap on prices' yes, but we live in a market economy, so will never happen. its outrageous that tickets are so much when it makes no different to most clubs whether they charge an extra £10, but a big difference to a fan on hard times.... they get most of their money from sky so could easily reduce prices if needed. if enough people pay the money to make it work financially it will stay... if fewer people go, reducing revenues they may reduce the prices. however that clearly involves people not going to games, most fans are loyal and will find the money... thats why they can often get away with it. i'm not a hardcore fan, never have, never will be. if ticket prices get silly like £32 for a game then i'll stay home (season ticket holder but before being one i went to odd games).
I am in the family stand this year ! there are loads of empty seats about in there and i cannot understand why as they are supposed to be sold out, i always thought they had to keep an amount for walk ups etc. I find the price for the family stand ok, half the price of the seats i had last year, however you do have to watch your p's and q's and at times it can get a bit annoying when you have little nippers running about the place. On that note Tom and I will be moving again next year, probably back to where we were last year. The other thing about the FS is on night matches there are only kids of about 12 and over and is much better in there, some of the kids stay on the playstations under the stand for the whole game and the parents obviously dont mind this, but all in all its not the place to be, but that is my opinion.
ISAW Bloody hell is it a football ground or a creche? I really don't get kids not watching the game and staying on playstations. If their parents have paid for the seat there is something just not right in them not watching the game. As far as crowd numbers are concerend I think most clubs include all season tickets sold in every published attendance so a number of the empty seats will simply be prepaid no shows - again what a waste. I am missing the next 2 home games but have found a grateful recipient for my st who will attend both matches. Just hope the bu££er behaves himself and I don't get banned.
"I really don't get kids not watching the game and staying on playstations".......playstations be fkd now thats what a call being fking spoilt.......what did we have a bloody crushed can or a cup of empty bovril.....saying that some of the best games witnessed at ninian park was played in front of the bob bank. ticket prices are shocking and in no way can you just up and go on the day 2 see a match without hard thought of how the fk can i justify spending this for an hour and half of sport......................now that never used 2 be the case if you wanted 2 go before it wouldnt break the bank and off we went.
Eee when I were a lad, best we'd get were bowls of cold gravel for tea, living in't cardboard box by't side o' road, get home from t'work and our Dad 'ood slice us in two wit bread knife and dance on't grave singing hallelujah!!!! Sorry Aber, not taking the pi$$, just a memory of the Python Yorkshiremen sketch. We haven't had any Python humour on here for ages.

Rubber You may or may not know dude, the playstations (4 or 5 of them) are under the family stand, put in by Sony ! I do know that there are quite alot of adults in the family stand alone, they get round that by buying a season ticket for a nephew or neice and hey presto they get a cheaper ticket and the seat will remain empty all year long. I think some parents dont give a flying feck whether of not their kids are in their seats, as i went to the bog about 20 mins into the Wolves game and underneath the stand was heaving with kids just mucking about. What a waste of money and time, each to thier own though, next season i am defo out of there, if we get promoted though that may be easier said than done.
This is my 2nd season in there. Its Fifa 11 I think as well. Bit behind the times. Saying that Sensible Soccer probably hasnt reached Jackland. Went back to the Ninian Stand for a play off game. The positive about the move is Dai Hunt is just behind where i used to sit.
ronnie it sounds like my worst nightmare dude>>>>saying that it was pretty sad in the middle section watching cardiff v blackpool game......i could have fking buried my misses putting me in the posh section with my wide vocabulary in full flow

'I do know that there are quite alot of adults in the family stand alone, they get round that by buying a season ticket for a nephew or neice and hey presto they get a cheaper ticket and the seat will remain empty all year long. ' well thats a bit rude. the whole reason to have cheap tickets is to get the kids to be lifelong fans. have suggested in the past when going out with mates, 'why not go in the family stand, its cheaper'. 'yes but you'll look like a tosser'. the difference between say a £20 ticket (more affordable level) and a £32 ticket with say 5,000 purchasers is £70k. if you multiply that by 23 matches its about £1.6m. who could do with that money more.....5,000 fans or mr billionaire tan.
So far I've paid 25, 2x 26 and 25 for Blackpool. I was paying 25 last year so I'm not seeing any advantage or disadvantage of the system at the moment, unless you count the fact that my boy has now pissed of into the Canton with his mates so thats saving me a ticket every game Not sure how they work it out but I assume it depends how high up the league we and/or the opposition are?
£32 is prohibitive, and there should be a cap. At £32 the club is basically saying to fans, please don't come to the game. It must have the effect of reducing the attendance - if only by a few hundred, as the fans that are included at that point are probably the ones that the club needs to encourage more (not less) to attend games.
Aber - I didn't know we had met. But I always look on the bright side of life. Anyway you're not as bad as some Jacks think, you're just a very naughty boy!!!
H! As you say, it is based on how well we are performing so our league position, opposition, time and day of the games. I feel the new system and pricing is designed to soften us up a bit should we reach the promised land this season. Can you imagine the prices should we go up? Come to think of it can you imagine how much we will all have to pay for any big FA cup games or play offs this season?
If I remember correctly, didnt Rick Wright bring in a similar fixed price scheme many years ago...X amount for top 2, X amount for 3 - 6 (maybe 3-8) and X amount for anywhere else? I think it was a promotion year and we only payed the higher prices towards the end of the season.... bargain
twas mr barry butlins h dude.......was a great idea at the time and like everyone agrees u should get what you pay for in football. did we win promo up at the race course the same year?......what a day that was
Is this possible? I thought that there were pictures on the season ticket and some other identification neded to gain access? I wrote abotu this before since I am happy to buy a ST as support for the club but would not get to many matches...thuss, I would wish to share the ticket with family and friends when i could not.
