At last common sense is starting to prevail...http://www.kentonline.co.uk/medway_messenger/news/scally-to-consider-scrapping-season-10820/ 'Gills chairman Paul Scally will consider scrapping the charges season ticket holders have to pay if they want someone else to have their seat'. This has been probably my biggest and most passionate argument since preseason. ST Holders appeared to be a lone voice, with many supporters of the original decision non season ticket holders themselves. However, I paid up front £700 during preseason to the club and for me the choice was simple, especially so on the back of a first half of the season, where my protest will become more prevelent. Either remove the charge or next season I will reconsider my position as an ST Holder. I have continued to boycott all match day programmes as a protest in the meantime. A lone voice maybe but then i have never been part of any happy clappy club. To me the choice is simple lift the charge or risk alienating your preseason life blood. I think this partial copy of a comment on that article sums it nicely for me... clive loves gills wrote: there will always be a few idiot's who abuse any syatem, but the majority should not have to suffer as a result how difficult would it be to lift this stupid policy immediately? not exactly filling the ground, are we? so tonight, two more empty seats in gordon road, no programme sold, no food and drink sold - well done gfc.
Lifting the charge is a good idea. I still think the amount of times we are able to transfer these seats should be limited to a certain number and naturally we should still have to go and get a printed ticket for that seat.
