Soon it will be time for the club to start to offer Season tickets holders the chance to
buy their seat for next season at a pre season discount. But I wonder how the building of the new stand
will effect the prices. Apart from a note by MAF in Fultime that we got planning permission, nothing concrete has been said
    when it will go ahead.

Interesting question SuperBri. There is of course money in the kitty from this year's transfers and the extra TV money coming next year. By all accounts that TV booty would alone go a long way to covering the new Development costs.

So far as the Development project itself is concerned, Invitations to Tender went out in January but there are rumours that the responses were 'over budget' and that a new negotiation phase has been necessary, which could affect timescales. As you will recall the major works were originally planned for this close season with final construction continuing into next season. The Club have said that while there would be some disruption, no parts of the ground would be closed and Riverside season ticket holders would not be affected (I think that is meant to be in relation to their seats - they might find themselves a little exposed to the elements though).

Who knows what all that will mean to next year's ticket prices but as you say we should know fairly soon.

I would doubt after clearing all debts from the club to him MAF will fund the building of the New Stand out of his own purse,
and that the new TV money will be spent on this redevelopment, but that will effect our transfer bugets, hence Jol has
said he will be looking to bring the young players through from our U-21 and U-18's squad.

New season ticket prices came out today. Looks like some haven't gone up and others quite modestly (mine has gone up about 3%).

The 'Early Bird' prices I reckon represent pretty good value and even better if you are a 'concession' !!.

PS Note that the 'Bring a Mate' prices are going up from £5 to £10. Wonder if this in anticipation of higher demand? [One less club from the Borough in the premiership?]

PPS Interesting that the Guardian story about Jol staying came out the same day as the New Season Ticket deal.

Having been told by the club that the early bird ticket scheme will end 28 May,
I now received a card in the post from the club that I have until May 7th to retain my seat,
so in other words the club are pressuring me into paying in advance or lose my seat !!!!
    Not Happy.

Think they did the same last year SuperBri.

As an aside, I was rooting around the loft and came across the Club Handbook for season 1958/59 (great year that) and in it was an article about ticket prices in 1912/13. A hundred years ago you would have paid -

Ground 10/6d (52p for arguments sake)

    Grandstand gentlemen 21/- (£1.05p)

    ditto ladies 10/6d (52p)

Front rows of Grandstand gentlemen £1/11/6d (£1.57p)

    ditto ladies £1/1/- (£1.05p)

ditto double ticket (lady and gent) £2

At today’s prices that £2 ticket for you and the missus would be £189. Two comparable seats in the Johnny Haynes next season will set you back £1578. Say no more !!
