Can anyone tell me, roughly, how many season tickets were sold for this season, and roughly how long the waiting list for season tickets is?

I believe the number of season tickets is 'capped' at 22,000 and the waiting list certainly was over 2,000 last season. I know several fans who sit near me (Lower N&P) have said that if hte performances don't improve, they won't be renewing

I tried asking one of EDP football reporters, Thai. So far only this.

The words 'waiting' and 'list' will clearly be lost on our Suffolk brethren, but then the thread's nothing to do with them <ok>

I'd hold fire though, Thai, until Tony Fernandes does some decent deals on air travel <laugh>

Yea, but do you believe them? I would encourage them not to renew; and tell them you'd rather be sitting among people who actually support the club. <ok>

Good point Robbie - they're the first to moan when CH makes substitutions they don't agree with and so wouldn't be missed!!!! <ok>

Trouble is if they all go it'll be like a certain ground just down the A40?

I'm not in that camp but how can you possibly say that? Seasons tickets cost the best part of a thousand pounds which is a huge chunk of anybody's disposable income so if the football isn't good - and I implore anybody to tell me otherwise that there are times this season when we have played dreadfully - do not have a right to be discontent?

This is one my pet hets on this forum tbh, just because someone doesn't share another person's positive opinion does not mean they should have their integrity as a supporter questioned.

DM - I know several fans who travel quite a long way to attend games and then have several pints before/after home games; so conservatively speaking - you can add £20 - £25 to the cost of each home match and bringing the cost to well over a £1,0000 a season.

Cant argue with the bit I've highlighted!!

Apart from spells working away from Norfolk I have only missed a handful of home games since 1950 when I first went to Carrow Road and have had a season ticket for more years than I care to think about. I will not mention where I now sit and how much my season ticket costs but I will say I have not sung or chanted for many years. I moan like hell - sometimes at the match, sometimes in the pub and often on here - does that mean I am not classed as a supporter and am not welcome at Carrow Road?

Only true supporters never complain, have any ideals, cheer constantly, never disagree (even if only in their own heads) and think every player is great because he plays for us.

Supporters who show discontent are just not being supportive enough to warrant a season ticket, because they don't care.

I'm afraid you'll find most people disagree with you on that one Robbie, though I assume it was said with tongue set firmly in cheek!

I've absolutely no problem with people complaining, as long as they're complaining about something with good reason...

    Can I ask a question?

What'e the difference between a "supporter" who will only go to games if we are playing well and a plastic?

It's a good point, and there is a finer line than has been said.

I think the key bone of contention was the suggestion that if you complain or are unhappy you can't be a supporter. I also think the suggestion that not going to games at all (whether because you can't afford it, live in a different part of the world or because you don't perceive that you are getting value for money) makes you a non-supporter is also a big problem.

You are a plastic the moment you only declare yourself a supporter when things are going well and that's the difference. Choosing not to renew your season ticket because we don't play well doesn't make you a plastic. Choosing not to renew your season ticket and refusing to be a supporter until we play well does make you a plastic.

    That's my view anyway.

Cheers Rob, I only asked the question because I've followed Norwich since early childhood and would never consider not following them, even if we tumbled down to non-league! I wouldn't be happy, but I'm City till I die, literally!

At least someone spotted it! I was suggesting that JRFan called their bluff, no more than that. Got a good bag though, even if unintentionally. Maybe I have a career ahead of me as a WUM. <ok>
