Is it a good idea for City to cost next seasons prices at around £150 - £200 depending on where you sit/stand. I reckon we'd get 10,000 fans take up the offer and surely it would be better than 5,000 at £300. Have I got my sums wrong ?
My season ticket last year was 140 I think so if I do stay in England then ill have no worries renewing at the same price as its pretty cheap. Just over £7 a game which is a good price. If they reduce it then even better. Would imagine it will be Ateyo - 250-350 Dolman - 250-400 Williams - 250 - 400 EE - 120-220
Ok Shiny, my figures might be inaccurate but I'm trying to get the principle across ie. Reduce significantly across the board and get twice the take up. The added value would be significant and the atmosphere would be much better.
mine are more than likely inaccurate too. I just put what I thought it would be. I would renew what ever league we are in. Saturdays wouldn't be the same without city, Im hooked on it now. Which is why when I move to Australia ill probably get a season ticket for one of there teams I hope the ST prices are reduced as its the least the club owe us. They will want as many as possible for league 1 and ive a good feeling we will sell 7500 ST As you said we will need a good atmosphere next season the EE will probably have the same amount of people in it but the rest of the ground need to pitch in. Reduce the prices, You get more fans. Play good football and win games you will then get even more fans. Both of this will result in a good atmosphere. It all falls at SODs door now. If he can turn it around he will get the fans and atmosphere back.
S O'D has no input into season ticket prices Shiny what the ticket prices do is impact on the wages we can pay which is the only connection S O'D has with them.
If the prices come in at for Dolman D: £350-£375 all in then game on if any more then i will have to seriously consider and then wait to see what the pay per game prices will be.......... I would prefer the former and have my ST......... Remembering teams such as Swindle, Oldham ( price freeze ) charging these sorts of rates, so standard and and attractive / affordable to me.................
The only problem with selling ST's at say 50 to 60% of this season's price with the aim of selling twice as many, is if we still sell only the same as we would at the higher price, we've well and truly shot ourselves in the foot!
I back lower season ticket prices but this is allied to huge reductions in squad size and wages paid. How many this season wanted city to spend even more money on centre halves midfield players? Turn over is eleven twelve million now, that drops by big lump, add FFP and is dramatic reduction in price feasible? Big reductions have to be allied to the long term and in the case of Bradford city = bigger gates but the club still remaining stationary or going backwards. Some fans thought Mr Lansdown big spending past income was a good idea I thought it was a bad one even five years ago if you want cheaper prices you should think about what sort of club if you want cheaper does that = leaner, more local and with a younger first team or is it it something else which requires higher prices.
Well Redprintt maths was never my strongest subject at school, but I would offer that 10,000 tickets @ £150 is the same amount of money as 5,000 @ £300, however the attendance would clearly be better. Naturally 10,000 at around the £200 mark is a good bench mark.
Season ticket prices at £200 x ??? Yields? Figures here will be less income than ten years ago. Obvious question is how do you sustain the club??
'Well Redprintt maths was never my strongest subject' - You won't be surprised that Maths is something else I excel at 'Not only a better atmosphere another 5k people to buy drinks, pies, shirts, scarves etc' ie - Added value, I think it makes sense and I've written to D L outlining the principle but as yet no reply.
This is what Bradford did a few years back and, I think, Huddersfield and they had really good crowds as a result Worthy of serious consideration (if not quite that low)...
Bayern Munich's president on season ticket prices. http://imgur.com/c0cJYFt Says it all really. The club should want to see the ground at capacity. If that means selling season tickets for £1 then so be it. Sure, we could actually use the extra money, but the most important thing by far is to fill the stadium.
