All very high, but I think that reflects our epic season! Ruddy - 10 Steer - 7 Rudd - 6.5 Rusty 8.5 Naughton - 8 De Laet - 6.5 Barnett - 6.5 Ward - 6 Ayala - 7 Whitbred - 7.5 R Bennett - 8 Tierney - 7.5 Drury - 7 E Bennett - 8.5 Crofts - 6 Fox - 8 Howson - 8 Johnson - 8 Hoolahan - 7 Lappin - 7 Surman 7.5 Pilkington 8.5 Vaughan - 6.5 Morrison - 7.5 Wilbraham - 7 Jackson - 7.5 Holt - 9.5
Steer 9 (one game, brilliant performance) De Laet 5 (distinctly average, we sent him back for a reason, too many costly mistakes) Ward 6.5 (how can you rate him lower than De Laet?) Ayala 8 (when fit, he was class, except for the MK Dons debut) Tierney 5.5 (injured most of season, hardly deserves 7.5 for not doing anything) Drury 10 (the veteran, amazing season for his age, could always be relied on, true club legend) Hoolahan 8.5 (many game-winning performances, our own David Silva) Vaughan 5 (played so few games, absent for 99% season while injured) Wilbraham 9 (did his job to the letter of Paul Lambert's orders, even scored a goal - worth an extra point!) My Take on the erroneous ratings
Think Whitbread has contributed a lot more than Bennett and would give Whitbread a 9, Bennett and Ayala 7.5. The rest probably spot on maybe Fox 8.5
Quite simply, except for Yakubu's goal, and possible one or two Manchester City scored past him (And only possibly) John Ruddy was absoluteness flawless this season. Holt has been epic too, but not flawless hence 9 and a half.
Yes to the first question, since it was his debut, and he pulled out some truly fantastic saves OK to the 2nd, a 6.5 ought to be more fair then.
He has led this club with his 15 goals in Premier League, scoring against the majority of the top teams Just because a striker doesn't score in every game, doesn't make him flawless...a solid 10 IMO
I wouldn't be so generous with De Laet, Barnett and Ward. If Hoolahan is 7 I'd say Surman would have to be too in my opinion.
9.5 is good enough IMO, although I can't believe we are arguing we should be celebrating. At the end of the day, he was coming on as a sub for a reason, maybe your opinion is tilted more towards recent games?
Ruddy has been immense, but he's made more mistakes than that. Did Holt need to score 20 Premier League goals to get 10? I tell you this, if we lost Holt for the season, we would of gone down, but if we'd lost Ruddy, we would of still stayed up.
Ok, that's your opinion. And no, of course I'm not judging Holt on goals scored, hence I have given Jackson/Morrison the same rating despite Morrison scoring more, I am judging it on performance. My ratings are my opinions only, and in my opinion, Ruddy's season had shaded Holt's and that is reflected.
Of course its your opinion and you are entitled to it. However, you are probably in the minority of one who thinks Holt doesn't deserve 10 out of 10 after everything he's done this season.
