James Mooney was on Radio Humberside Sportstalk last night. He said that the club have sold 15500 season passes so far which he said is about 900 down on last season. James also said that there has been quite a bit of demand from potential new season pass holders so he was hopeful that when the remaining season passes go on general sale they will close the gap on last season. He felt that with the price increase they would be happy if they got about 16000 season pass sales which would bring quite a bit of extra revenue in. He added that due to the allocation of 10% of the capacity for away fans, corporate sales and a general sale allocation due to a Premier League ruling the actual ceiling they can go up to on season pass sales is about 17500.
Bit the bullet and renewed my 2 season passes yesterday. Does anybody know how the sales have gone and if they're comparable with last season.
I might have two for sale in september when i get back from China. One adult one concession, i am away for most of the season anyway only managed to see 6 games last season and my lad has decided he isn't bothered this year. Will update when i get back 11th September !!!
Why are they ever not on sale? We have this every year. Why turn people away unless you're completely sold out?
Does seem strange. I was told yesterday that at 1200 yesterday that was it, no more would be sold. I know they have to get them sent out but it's still 2 weeks till the first home game and maybe the Trencin game might have created some extra interest, thought they might have given it a few more days.
I'm not clear on what you mean. Last season did we sell out season passes? Is the max 17.500 and we sold them? Have we reached that now?
Hi Chazz. The figures James quoted were when he was on Sportstalk 9 days ago. I don't know if many more passes were sold whilst they were on general sale last week. He definitely said that the most they could sell this season is 17500. He didn't say how many were sold last season but he did say we were 900 down on last seasons sales about a week ago but he didn't say if that was 900 down on the actual total sold last season or 900 down for the same time period i.e 9 days ago and same time last year.
So now we have a clear picture. Assem Allam put the price of tickets up. Assem Allam moves CTWD, I mean E1-2-3 to the North Stand. Assem Allam does not back down on the name change Assem Allam removes the wording from the club badge And still increases revenue. Now I know that some may want to pick holes in what I have posted, but the fact is that as I pointed out right at the start, unless protest engages the majority, it cannot succeed, the "Minority" made more noise, conducted a great campaign and got great pats on the back. But what else, nothing, Assem Allam may not be able to change to playing name at the moment, but nothing will stop him doing whatever he wants.
The ticket office need a couple of days to get everything sorted at their end from an admin point and to get all of the data collected, to see who hasn't renewed etc. It won't have been a decision from the club, more that the TO have been that busy for months so need to get everything caught up.
If we get 2 singing sections either side of the away fans it will improve the atmosphere so that won't be the worst decision ever made.
I'm not clear about the numbers James is coming out with either, we have to leave 20% of seats not sold as season tickets(10% away fans/10% match day tickets), which should leave roughly 20,000 season tickets(we sold 18,000 last season). James seems to be separating out corporate season tickets, though I've no idea why, a season ticket is a season ticket, wherever it is in the ground. I'm supposed to be seeing him tomorrow, so I'll see if I can get some clarification.
Every owner has tried to move the away fans to the north east corner for the past ten years, it's got absolutely nothing to do with the name change.
He even put a reference to Hull City Council on the badge, at least to one of their markets, so all is not lost. The campaign persuaded the majority of the FA to vote no. Assem Allam owns the club but he doesn't own the FA. If the Premier League, Sky Sports and BT think that having US style names for football clubs spoils their product the FA will continue to say no. With a 25,000 seat stadium the only way he can continue replacing old supporters who give up is with new fans. To do that he needs success. To get success he needs money, to get money he needs success and possibly some peace amongst the fan base.
I was only being a twat, OLM. I know for instance that Assem Allam could not give a fig about where in the ground anyone sits or even if they stand, he is only interested in ticket sales.
Assem Allam was successful.....the others failed r/e seat move . Take away the name change stuff and he is our most successful owner ever so far. I live in hope he drops the name change because no one wants it .
Obi, If we get into the group stages and then have a reasonable cup run as well as finish higher than last year, the revenue will be increased higher than if we simply attracted more sponsorship via a name change.
Most anti name changers(they are not all CTWD members), are not going to stop going to games Mel. I'm not going, and there are a couple of others on here. But the vast majority aren't willing to miss out. Nice try, but buying a season pass, does not mean you are supportive of a name change. Oh and that "Minority" thing is a lie.
I think 100% don't want the name change . But out of that 100% the majority don't care enough to join ctwd, or to bother to vote which is a shame . ( I voted no ) I would like the fa to come out and say no club can alter there name . That would sink anyone's plans to try it now or in the future .
I understand, but my dig is aimed at the gloaters who reveled in low season pass sales. It would be really hard to find anyone who really supporters the name change, anyone can see that. But owners who want to change clubs know that customers will come if they put on a good show. The point is that as long as someone buys a ticket, club owners simply see supporters as customers and if not customers then audiences and our club is a prime example of a fan base that is generally controlled by success.
Fair does, i misunderstood. Anyone who hoped for low season pass sales deserves a slap. It's a difficult one to explain, because although i have boycotted, i still want success for Hull City. I don't know, the whole name change thing ruined what was a fantastic season, and it continues to do so. The whole match day experience, even great wins like the semi final,or that Liverpool victory, were sullied by this needless name change thing.
