Very important sequence of games coming up for LFC that could massivley swing the race for 4th in our hands. Any advantage no matter how little needs to be eased upon by the team. and with the ACON round the corner a few of our rivals will be missing some valuable team members. Arsenal - Gervinho has been on fine form recently and will miss at least swansea (a), man utd (h), bolton (a) blackburn (h), sunderland (a) Chelsea - Drogba + Kalou - Kalou not getting much of a look in anyway but Drogba´s obviously the main man at Chelsea & with Torres´s indifferent form i can see them dropping points, looking at their peformance against Portsmouth i think its fair to say they have a few problems. they will miss sunderland (h) norwich (a) swansea (a) man utd (h) everton (a). thats a tough run of matches for anyone let alone without a decent striker. Newcastle - Ba +Tiote - I wont bother with their run of games as even with Ba & Tiote i dont think they could challenge for 4th. But needless to say they will drop even more in their absence. I only included the next 5 games as im unsure when it actually finishes & if the players did return in time for the 5th match (weekend of 11th of Feb) they most probably will miss the match due to fatiuge, maybe someone who knows could comment so we know when it finishes, qualification to later rounds permitting. As for ourselves we have stoke (h) bolton (a) wolves (a) Spurs (h) man utd (a) aswell as a few cup games. I think its imperative we have 10 points from the 1st 4 fixtures prior to going to Old Toilet, hopefully Arsenal will miss Gervinho´s penetration & Chelsea will miss Drogbas all round game so we can take advantage and actually force our way through to 4th spot. If we would have put our chances away this season not only would we already be 4th but over these coming games we could have had it all but wrapped up. Shame Suarez is banned for this run but looking on the brightside he could do with a rest as he was busy winning copa america in the summer & will be fresh for the remainder of the season. Kenny talked about putting our chances away and looking at the Oldham match maybe a corner has been turned.
The whole of Feb we play our rivals except Chelsea, after that we have a very decent run of games till the end of the season against teams we should expect to beat. We haven't had a decent run yet like Spurs, Uts and Arsenal have had. That should be our opportunity.
We're in with a shout if we avoid more moderate or worse injuries to namely Gerrard Adam Agger Skrtel Reina Suarez Spearing Bellamy. There will be blips as with the 3 0 at City but Chelsea and Arsenal are by no means guarenteed victories against anyone even with full squads. I think City are hardest hit by the ACoN Toure is central to their attacking football, they are far more open to counters when he aint in the team and a lot of good play starts with him. If we can pip 4th with Lucas for less than half a season Gerrard for half a season Carra out for so long new players striking woes and a lot of bullshit, to be where we are considering everything, it's all good. 4th would be great so lets see what heppens, there is a lot of games left but we've shown 0 consistency the defence apart
