No one can deny that we have played very well in the last four games and we deserve more that the 4 points we gained.

Vargas and Isla are linking up well and Harry seems rather more ambitious these days, starting three strikers yesterday. Zamora has justified his contract extension, may not have scored himself yet but he is roughing up defences with a couple of assists and I suspect it wont be long until he finds the net himself.

Barton is back to control the midfield and hopefully Mutch and Niko will return soon too.

The defence still looks a bit shaky at times but certainly better and Yun looks a very good player.

Mustn't get too carried away but we now have a run of fairly pleasant fixtures where we should expect to pick up a few points and start to climb the table.

Newcastle next, and they have hit form too. Could be an interesting one!

With the form Newcastle are in the International break could be a blessing.

It's a funny old league this year.

The difference between 6th and bottom in the league is only 10 points.

This time last year (after 11 games) the difference between bottom and 6th in the table was 16 points. Palace and Sunderland were rock bottom ... both survived.

Great timing then for us to burst Pardew's balloon, especially if we could score an early goal and take the crowd out of the game.

No-one will treat us as a pushover on our recent form, we just have to maintain our progress and start winning...
