From SAFC.com: "Season card prices frozen for another year. Sunderland AFC has announced that the cost of season cards for the 2015-16 season at the Stadium of Light will be frozen at the reduced 2014-15 renewal prices. Sunderland supporters already enjoy some of the cheapest seats in the top flight, after the Black Cats took the decision to drop the price of their season cards last year. The club’s fans will be able to continue to support their team next season at the same discounted price they paid for their seat during last year’s renewal period. SAFC’s chief executive, Margaret Byrne, said: “We recognise how important our supporters are to what we are trying to achieve here at Sunderland. We wholeheartedly appreciate the sacrifice they make when they commit to a season card and give their backing to the team week in, week out and we want to ensure that as many of them as possible can continue to do so, which is why we have frozen our prices.” Sunderland’s Stadium of Light continues to see some of the highest attendances in the top flight, with an average crowd of over 43,000 this season. Meanwhile, the popular Family Zone, introduced at the start of the 2013-14 season, sold out for the current campaign. The club is continuing its long-standing commitment to offering affordable football, with Sunderland fans aged under 16 paying just £99 for a whole season of football, which equates to less than £5 a game. Further information on SAFC season cards for 2015-16 will be confirmed shortly, with supporters set to receive their renewal packs in early March. Full details will be available here on safc.com. The cost of SAFC’s popular seasonal hospitality packages will also be frozen at 2014-15 prices for existing members." Good news, though think they could have shown some leadership and reduced the prices given the increase in TV money.
