Bluey - I think Zak would need to play off Salech not Robinson. I don't see Robbo as a realistic target man in that sense.

I don't think we can ignore his performances in Belgium. Although their Juliper Pro league is way off our Prem standard, he did well in a poor team playing at a level which is probably higher than our current League One.

Playing him wide makes no sense in he hasn't sustainable pace, but he can do damage with the ball at his feet in the right areas - and that's in the box.

To be honest, as a forum we have had many discussions about Isaak over that last few seasons. He hasn't had that many opportunities but while he isn't a very naughty boy he also isn't the messiah we would like him to be - one of our own and all that.

Injuries haven't helped but when has he really shown what he can do. I stand by the fact that is skill level isn't up to the level we need.

I also question your judgement of the Belgian League. May just about be our Div 1 standard but nowhere near Championship level. They have one or two decent clubs but rarely go anywhere in European competition
Anderlecht used to but no more.

That's why any players of perceived talent get snaffled up by clubs in other European countries - Holland, France, Germany, England, Spain etc.

I don't rate the Belgian "Premier" league highly overall either. Although most in it would struggle to compete in our Championship, teams such as Anderlecht, USG, Club Brugge, Circle Brugge, Gent and Standard Liege would certainly be competitive. Remember, Zak was playing against them for a failing team during his time at Kortrijk and did well.

Since back with us, he's been injured more time than fit. He seems to have been around for ages but not made that breakthrough for some reason or other. Maybe that's lack of ability or just lack of opportunity - give him a go up top as a second stiker because he's not the answer out wide.

Interesting discussion. <ok>
